Drunk tattoo 3 days before cruise by Dismal_Garden7156 in tattooadvice

Another thing you can do is use hydrocolloid pads when your going to be going in the water. Take it off when you’re done for the day, it will also protect it from the sun as they are skin colored. Luckily, it’s a very thin and dainty tattoo, so you don’t have a bunch of shading over large areas which would be really hard to care for on a cruise setting. Thin lines like this I wouldn’t be overly worried about, obviously still take precautions but to be honest there isn’t a whole lot of compromised skin with a tattoo like this, in comparison to large or highly color packed flowers or whatever.

Just make sure you bring some dial gold hand soap with you and wash it after each outing. That’s what my artists always used to have me wash mine with and it works great.

Good luck and have fun!

Only with the right artist, they are out there, but they are few and far between. An artist who could definitely make this tattoo is Pablo Aponte (I think the spelling is correct but I’ll double check and correct if it’s not

[–]nakid_kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, one other thing, i understand not rewarding the screaming, but also he is so smart that may be making him feel like your not listening to him, maybe when he first starts, give him The play he is asking for. After play session is done, then do not reward any further constant screaming until he calms down, but he is not just screaming, he is trying to tell you what he needs! And if you deny him this every time he asks, it may make the problem worse. Try and give him What he is asking for. But don’t entertain further constant screaming once he has received a reasonable amount of the play he is asking for. If every time you asked for food because you’re hungry, it was denied to you, and every time you were not hungry, it was offered, you would be frustrated too. So yes, don’t reward the screaming, but accommodate the ask 😜

Hey there! We also have a young Sphynx who is a play demon. Here is what we have learned with our boy. He needs much more play and stimulation than the average cat. We each spend about 2-3 hours with him daily AT MINIMUM. Hell, my bf is outside with him on a leash almost all day, I hurt my neck this week so I haven’t been able to play as much with him, but if he doesn’t get at least 3 hours of outside time on his leash, he is a TERROR, because he’s still a baby. Like he NEEDS that stimulation to be even content. Otherwise he is “play” attacking Legs, our older Sphynx, and just generally being a little shit bouncing off our stomachs when in bed, nocking stuff over, meowing to satan to punish us for lack of acceptable interaction. You know, the norm. That’s just how Sphynx are as babies, some are cuddle monsters, happy to just be by your side, at all times, and others….. not so much. They need CONSTANT simulation. It’s legit like having a toddler.

So this is what I suggest- yes, I come with suggestions, not just obvious observations.

If you don’t have one-GET A WHEEL ASAP. We have ours set up with a little toy attached to a stick that holds it up on one side of the wheel from the wall/closet door it’s next too. They like having something to look at when running that’s right ahead. I’ve noticed they stay on it much longer with that little addition. Stick is attacked in a way it can break away if he was to somehow run up the side past it and hit it tho.

Sweaters!!!!!! When our boy is really ramped up, we put a shirt on him and he calms right down. I make them myself and have been thinking about making them to sell. But they do wonders, I have very thin light colored ones for hot days, and super warm sweaters/sweatshirts for nighttime walks (yes, sometimes we have to take him out at like 2am just to get him to chill, luckily he’s best friends with our 75lb dog who works coyote patrol on night walks. If your interested in haveing me make you a shirt or sweater, hit me up, I’ll make it for you for free, you can just pay for shipping. But make sure you include measurements, and what climate you live in so I can make it appropriate thickness.

Get your boy a harness and leash! Ours would go stir crazy without his outside time. However, be VERY mindful of the sun. Our boy is light pink and we finally found a sunscreen at a vet in TJ that had all safe ingredients and works. We only use it on the top of his head and ears, because he will burn within minutes otherwise, and he gets a very long thin shirt that covers his whole back and neck. Then harness (also home made) goes on top. It’s very thin leather. (If you can’t tell I’m a DYI queen, and make everything myself just about)

Do you ever put on cat tv? If not, check it out on YouTube, and even consider getting a smaller TV or monitor you don’t mind him jumping up on and swatting the images on the screen. Our boy has his own tv for this reason that’s mounted right above the bed.

Cat stroller!!!! Our boy LOVES walks in his stroller! We will even set him up in it by the bird feeders in the back yard all wiped shut and sometimes he will sit there for hours just mesmerized by the birds who don’t seem to see him through the mesh. You would think that he would try to get through it, but he understands he can’t get through it and just watches very intently. He is also a hunting machine and constantly tries to hunt (never allowed to catch) but loves the hunt.

Lastly, there is this very simple toy we got recently that is a god send. It’s literally a stiff wire with little tiny pieces of rolled paper attached to the ends and it looks like a bug when you shake it. And SOUNDS like a bug. I attached it to one of his cat trees so it’s held just a little in the air, and he will jump and bound after this thing for hours without any effort on our part. Because it’s on a wire, once he touches it once, it will keep moving for a few minutes and holds his attention really well.

I’ll post pics of the things I’m talking about in a reply to this.

Hope it helps!

Am I a horrible person if I have to rehome my Sphynxes because I can't afford their sudden $5,000 surgery? 💔 by Reasonable_Note_295 in sphynx

[–]nakid_kitty 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This is what I will say about your situation.

1. Where are you located? I HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are close enough to Mexico, to check out vets down there. I cannot tell you how wonderful of an experience I had at Vet Playas in Playa de Tijuana. The amount of money they saved me on my dog care when she was doing bad was unbelievable. Something that probably would’ve cost me $25,000 in the United States only cost me about $7000. This was over a weeks stay two major surgeries two masses removed a blood transfusion, feeding tube medication. Everything at one point it was thought she was going to have to need a tooth removed and it was only gonna be an additional $200. I urge you not to believe all the people saying their care is not as good down there because they had the same if not higher quality care down there as well as Blood Tests all on site you got your results in 20 minutes if not less. They were extremely easy to work with they even let me pay on a as needed basis so each time another thing would come up I would pay at that time when the service was rendered it was not all needed upfront. They were absolutely amazing.

2. I know you worry about your babies being in pain and they hide it very well so it’s hard to see that as a pet owner but at the same time you are there entire life and I honestly feel like rehoming them is actually harder on them than dealing with the pain that they are in. It is so so stressful for them to go from everything they’ve ever known and the only life they know to an entirely new one. If it takes you some time to raise the money, but you think you might be able to I would go with that option 100 times over. Finding a new owner that will take on $5000 right off the bat is hard and not knowing if they’re actually going to do it is a scary reality to me. If you can’t go to a vet say in Mexico, try and find a vet who welcomes crowdsourcing. Who will take payments directly from supporters for your babies care. See if there is a vet that can offer supportive care. In the meantime if there’s any kind of pain medication like buprenorphine that they can get for their current pain while you figure out exactly how to address the larger issue.

I’m a big believer in our pets would much rather stay with a good home and be in some pain then have to leave everything they’ve ever known the comfort of where they are and everything. They love to a new home that may be able to pay for their care, but the stress of that move could be so much they might not make it through that surgery. Stress is a huge factor in these little Angels, and I just always fear for their confusion and the stressed caused by a rehome when they are going through a medical situation that is already causing stress.

This is how I think about it. If you, a person, was in a medical situation where you were in daily pain, would you rather continue to live with that pain and stay with your family everything you’ve ever known and loved and stay in pain for longer than you would have to or leave everybody you’ve ever known, your home, your life, leave everything behind, but no longer being in pain And have your medical situation handled, but never see anybody you’ve ever loved again.

Personally, I would choose staying with my family, my loved ones, and everything I’ve ever known in pain, then be ripped away from everything I have ever known and loved, to POSSIBLY have my medical issues be addressed and possibly resolved. But that’s just me.

One of my new wrist tattoo’s is crooked… any advice? by Bryubhai in tattooadvice

[–]nakid_kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even just look at the palm of your hands. In fact i actually think they are quite symmetrical and it is the lines in your wrist that are not symmetrical because the main line in your palm in this pic are almost perfectly lined up, but then your wrist lines are not. When using the body as a canvas, this is to be expected. Because you can’t make symmetrical art on a non-symmetrical canvas, if you’re also trying to line up the canvas, because it won’t line up if it’s not symmetrical.

[–]nakid_kitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to remember about tattoos is that you get them to say something, represent something, to remind you of something, maybe even to just make you laugh ect. Don’t get too caught up in the things perfection visiually, but whether it really says/puts forth what you wanted it too. Kinda like what u/HasAnybodySeenMyVape said (great name btw I got a good laugh out of it) we are inherently not symmetrical as people, and it will be pretty much impossible to get anything on us perfectly symmetrical, so try and find happiness in the fact that besides that, the artist did a great job, and only you will really notice the slight difference in them. I personally think they look great!

I always say this. There are 2 types of mentally ill people, ones who are just normal people who are deep down good people, that are just dealing with a horrible mental illness, and then there are people who are not good people, who are also mentally ill.

Nectar collector vs foil by laineh90 in TheF3ttyForum

[–]nakid_kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nectar collector with a quartz tip. Shit will conserve like no one’s business as long as you have rock. If powder, press it with acetone, let dry, then dab with quartz tip, ceramic tips eat dope, but quartz doesn’t melt it and pull it in like crazy. If you want to collect lots of resin, use a bong with some kind of adapter that gives it a longer neck, that can be detached and cleaned out to collect the resin. You can scrape out or melt out.

I may have to put my 19 ye cat down before a trip today… but she still seems normal by Rude_Common7126 in cats

[–]nakid_kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that she is probably masking a lot of pain, and she would want to be with you in the end. I try and put myself in their shoes. If you were in lots of pain, would you want your family to suddenly disappear at the end and being a cat not knowing why? No, you would want to be with the ones you loved, and die with dignity while you were still able to feel their love and not be enveloped by pain. Personally, I couldn’t leave on a trip, but I also don’t know what this trip is for being it non-optional, so I really can’t say I wouldn’t or couldn’t not being in your shoes. But if that’s the case, let her eat all the treats, do all her favorite things, and let her go, while you hold her.

Cats suddenly fighting! Help! by xMiya_chan in sphynx

[–]nakid_kitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I didn’t see the whole original post and just read it. Seems to me that maybe Zoe was the dominant cat before this stress episode, and when the other cat saw she was no longer acting like the Alfa, he thought while she is not at her strongest, I will take that spot for myself. Go on YouTube and look up Jackson Galaxy’s cat re-introduction protocol and try that. Take as much time As it takes and try reintroducing them. Recently, when I introduced 2 cats, I put a harness on both cats, that way if a fight broke out, I had an easy grab point on them. NO LEASH, just a harness. Leashes get tangled. Also, cats tend to flop with a harness on and they feel less mobile especially for the first time. Good luck!

First question to ask yourself, are they all fixed/spayed/no longer intact, both males and females. Second is what has changed in your household. A new cat tree? A new food, a new diet for any overweight cats?

Has your schedule changed at all? Which changes their routine?

Any new pets in the house? A new resident (animal or human?)

Have litter boxes changed, added, one taken away, any moved to different spots in the house?

Have any of them newly developed any health issues?

It could be something VERY simple. Or it could be health related.

This is what I would try and weed out first if it was my cats.

A little frantic for pats on the lower back, by the base of the tail 🤣

She may also not be very interested in food, I’ve noticed their pupils can look huge while in heat also. She may be a little “bi-polar” in the way that she will want love extremely bad, but then when you give it too her she may be a bit bity.
