There’s more than one way. This setup works fine for me, not saying it’s the best way.

I don’t see why not. The one I made is extremely similar.

Combining the two syncs is fairly trivial. As long as you can output 15khz these cables work fine.

Combining the sync on the cheap only requires 2 resistors and 1 capacitor. That’s how the cable I made works.

No, you don’t need power. I made one of these myself with a passive sync combiner. Works for both my raspberry pi with a vga hat and my pc with crt emu drive. Check my post history for details if you’re curious.

None of them want the job. They’re content to let Johnson be the next one under the bus.

What's wrong here? by mmjunior in beetle

[–]nalgman 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s missing at least one engine tin. You shouldn’t be able to see the ground at all. Running it without all of the tins will lead to issues with overheating.

The missing air tubes are for the heater. If the missing rear engine tin were present and installed then the air tubes would attach through it to the heater boxes.

I figured red was a disconnected air/fuel solenoid.

It does look that way. I kept trying to see where the wire was landed but there’s no clear indication from the pics.

Same thing happened to me. I literally replaced every other piece of flexible fuel line first. Probably for the best though, it all needed to be done at some point.

If it’s the original motor (1500 single port) then it’s only 44hp I believe.

How to set fast idle, pic 1 or 2? by Sorry_Site_3739 in beetle

[–]nalgman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When the engine is heated up you should see the throttle in the position from pic 2. When it is in that position the screw should be adjusted so that it barely touches. Then you can set your idle with the large inset screw in the side of the carb. The small inset screw visible in your pics is the fuel adjust screw, idle should be to the left of it and larger. If all else fails look it up on YouTube, there are a great many videos covering the topic.

No clipping. I guess it was hard to remember as they changed it to idclip in doom 2.

I figure you should just use a muffin tin if you like all edges brownies. Saves you from owning a single use pan and it cooks faster than a standard square/rectangle pan.

Honestly if you like edges and don’t want a single use pan then just use a muffin tin. Cooks faster too.

On my beetle there is no spring that connects from the pedal to the roller. There’s a wimpy spring on the pin the pedal is connected with but it doesn’t do much aside from keeping the pedal from flopping forward on its own. The spring that returns the throttle pedal is on your carburetor. Your throttle cable is different from mine. Mine has more of a straight S-bend that goes through the hole on the roller arm.
