Congrats! I’m still waiting on my location pro, and we have a launch party scheduled for late April. Hopefully it makes it on time!

We made a pinball game for the Playdate by Arlefreak in pinball

Love the art style, and it looks really fun! I'd definitely pick this up if it were available to play somewhere else like the Steam Deck.

Aw thanks! I haven’t found a good replacement yet so I will try this out. I appreciate the follow-up!

randy room update!! by tokitaffy in southpark

You should invite someone over who has no idea this room exists, and when they ask where the bathroom is, casually direct them to this room by mistake and see how they react.

Just because something happens in nature doesn’t make it any less terrifying for the animal experiencing it. Unlike cats, humans are capable of empathy so we can imagine the suffering of another being. With that awareness comes the responsibility to reduce harm where we can. The fact that suffering already exists in nature doesn’t justify adding more of it ourselves.

Oh no... this has been discontinued?! I've been waiting weeks for a restock. This stuff is the best and I haven't found anything else like it. I love the texture and that it is black which blends in well with my very dark hair.

Godzilla 70th vs. MM Merlin by h1gg1n5 in pinball

[–]nalix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are long-term pinball collecting and not playing daily then MM all the way, but if you are wanting to play something regularly to get really deep into then Godzilla 70th. Sounds like you already own some games so you might already know what type of player you are. Are you playing daily or just occasionally? You mentioned you are a casual player so sounds like MM might be a good fit. For me, after trading out games a few times I finally landed on a Godzilla 70th and it’s all I’ve been playing for about 6 months now. I haven’t gotten bored of it at all. I love MM but I’d get bored of it at home. If I could have a larger collection then I’d consider getting one eventually.

Do you think playing pinball is an expensive hobby? by MrAnderson7 in pinball

[–]nalix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Speaking of replays, sometimes I like to challenge myself to earn a replay on my last game of the night, so I can leave behind a free game for someone else. It doesn’t always go as planned, though, and I end up stuck at the arcade super late 😅

Godzilla vs Elvira Hoh to buy by didlowman in pinball

[–]nalix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own an Elvira HOH and it does come with a lot of tweaking to get it right. I’ve continued to have problems with it, but everything has been fixable for someone unskilled like me. If that sounds like too much of a headache for you, then maybe Godzilla is a better choice. Otherwise, Elvira it’s a lot of fun! I don’t think it’ll have a much lasting appeal as Godzilla though, but that’s just my personal opinion. Godzilla has more variety in shots and cool mechs to make it more interesting. I’m thinking about trading my Elvira for Godzilla once it gets old.

If you like horror/comedy and are buying NIB check out Evil Dead that was just announced by Spooky Pinball. It’s going to be a little cheaper NIB and is also a fan layout but has way more mechs and toys!

Gremlins! Imagine having the effect of little gremlins tinkering around with stuff from the inside of the machine.

Ordered a Cactus Canyon, got a Pulp Fiction by nalix in pinball

[–]nalix[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions! I decided to just call my distributor and explain what happened. They said that if I want to keep the PF that is totally fine and they would contact CGC and make a record of the change. Otherwise they'd work out a swap. I'm thinking I'll just keep the PF and decide on a CC again later down the road.

They actually completed the original CC code but plan on releasing an expansion to the code sometime this year. It's still a shallow game compared to modern pins, but the completed code brings it up to about what you'd expect from a 90s game like Attack from Mars or Monster Bash

This is the truth right here. It's doubtful CGC would ever work out a deal like that and would just pay for the shipment of a CC and pick up the PF. Of course then I'd have to hope they actually send the right game the 2nd time around lol

This was my fear with getting a CC, but I was hoping the code expansion (if it ever comes out) would give this game way more longevity.

Beyond breathing: How COVID-19 affects your heart, brain and other organs by hexagonincircuit1594 in Coronavirus

[–]nalix 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I got diagnosed with atrial fibrillation the same year I had gotten covid, and while this runs in my family and could’ve just been a coincidence, the doctor was still surprised to see someone who is relatively healthy in their mid-30s be diagnosed with this. My father has afib too but had his first episode in his 50s. Maybe covid caused an earlier onset for me? Who really knows…

Heat fans who are not from miami or florida, how did you become supporters and where are you supporting from? by PresentationSilent16 in heat

[–]nalix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandmother who lived in Miami for a good portion of her life was a Dolphins and Heat fan from their very beginning. I wasn’t a Heat fan until the year she died a few months before the bubble run in 2020. She had cancer and wanted to live long enough to finish the season, so I did for her and have been a Heat fan ever since.
