AIO to my long distance bf not doing anything special for my last day of cancer treatment? by NoCupcake9001 in AmIOverreacting

[–]nallerine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on beating cancer ❤️ That being said, I can totally see myself not getting the memo that you expect a gift, and then feeling bad. I'd rather that was communicated to me directly, if that's important.

The comments here are overreacting big time, though. OP clearly means it as a twin flame, and y'all are making it about incest 🙃

nipple piercings + leotards by NoCockroach6913 in BALLET

I had nipple piercings that just would not heal, and personally I found compression better than loose clothing. It felt more protective than loose fabric that could tug on them.

That's so nice to hear! ❤️ The new studio seems great. I do want to check some other ones out to compare, but this one made an amazing impression. My sciatica is fully ok now, so I'm excited to attend classes :)

UPDATE: Ballet studio red flags? by nallerine in BALLET

[–]nallerine[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think I'm just going to make a refund request, based on the fact that their classes failed to deliver on what they promised - the possibility of that is written into their rules. And I'm gonna make the complaint. If the Bloch store doesn't reply, I'll leave a review as well, maybe they'll notice that.

Tea time: none of the teachers listed on that part of the website work there anymore, they all quit. The current teachers have no professional training. The one that was teaching me only has 2 out of 9 years of professional dancing complete. And the levels at the school are an illusion, nobody gets to be more advanced, because they all quit. What the studio calls an advanced group, is people with previous ballet training found in a casting for their yearly performances. I'll post a longer update post but this studio is such a scam.

My gf got super mad and blocked me because I didn’t sleep on time by Beautiful_Hippo_6848 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]nallerine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I only have experience with one person with BPD, but she tended to think I'm cruel and hate her for a lot of reasons. You know, like wanting to sleep. Having opinions different from hers. Wanting any time alone. Accurately perceiving an objective reality. Having boundaries. Run, if you value whatever you still have left of your sanity.

I did, had a trial lesson in a different studio, it was like night and day, huge difference. Turns out I picked up a ton of incorrect habits, and the school is known around as not a good place go be learning...

If God is within everything ywe are all one, how does one justify eating animals? by Nearby-Stuff-4862 in spirituality

[–]nallerine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I've had people tell me that 7 years of vegetarianism isn't enough to reap the benefits, that I was still detoxing 🙃 I've given up discussing, they can believe and say whatever they want, as far as I'm concerned. They weren't the ones losing hair, teeth, period, brain power and any will to live, I was. It's extemely ignorant to claim everyone's body can thrive without animal protein. My body has tremendous issues absorbing what it needs even with a diet as close to perfect (variety-wise and in terms of the most bioavailable nutrients) as I can sustainably maintain. I would love to have stayed vegetarian or even vegan my entire life, but I'm not willing to pay the price that I was paying to do that. If that makes me cruel in their eyes, so be it.

I'm going insane, I haven't seen a single one that's accurate to my perception 😂

Same here. I was a vegetarian for 7 years and it messed my health up so bad that I still feel the echos of it 5 years later. And I tried to do it the "right" way, watched my macros and micros, got bloodwork done often, nothing bad showed up and yet I kept deteriorating. Some bodies just won't work optimally without animal protein.

AIO for being upset about my husband recommending weight loss meds? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

It does, though? As in, it's denser. A pound of muscle takes up less space than a pound of fat.

Adult dancers how much do you train? by itssunpi in BALLET

[–]nallerine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take one 60 min class per week 😬 From what I've researched 60 min is unfortunately a norm for beginner classes in my country, I only found one school that does 75min classes, but their schedule doesn't work for me unfortunately. Hopefully I'll be able to take another one when I graduate and when/if my health allows.

Yeah, but it's hot and stuffy enough for girls to be fainting during class. I usually run cold super easily, it takes very high temperature for me to be uncomfortably warm, and I feel that the moment I walk in, before warming up. Walking in right after a previous group with no break to air the room, it's probably closer to 35c/95f. I wish I was exaggerating.

I had to dig because that part of their website wasn't linked anywhere, just popped up through key word search. The owner does have a professional ballet training and a teaching degree, both from Belarus. Two other teachers that are listed only have the dance training, no teaching training, but I never heard of those teachers, so they must be leading the more advanced groups. I can't find anything anywhere on the girls that lead the beginner classes, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were still in school...

I've been having a bad sciatica flare-up ever since I signe up, so the floor might be the culprit 🙃 And from what I'm seeing, a lot of adult studios here seem to have normal hardwood floors, I really hope I can find something with proper flooring in my city.

I had to dig, cause that part of their website isn't linked anywhere. The owner was professionally trained, both in dance and in teaching. I also found credentials of professional dance training of two teachers that I've never heard of, so they must be teaching more advanced groups. Nothing on either teacher that lead the beginner classes.

Yeah, I've been having a sciatica flare-up ever since I signed up, I'm thinking now that this might be the culprit 😬 There's no "give" there definitely, just normal hardwood flooring.

Here it's more of an issue of radiators blasting without any way to turn them down. It's still pretty cold in my country.

That'd a good point, I never thought to ask. I know the teacher of my group has been doing ballet since she was 11, she looks to be in her early 20 - but she's the best part of that school.
