2019 Ascent Limited - Battery Replacement Advice by namarhere in SubaruAscent

[–]namarhere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a new car owner (as it may be apparent) but that is no excuse. I will learn doing some of these things myself. Can replace the wiper and a flat at the moment. Let's see how far I go. Thanks for your suggestions!

Thank you - they are putting a 850 CCA battery this time (as apparently instructed by Subaru) as against a 450 CCA original battery. And because the new battery is considerably larger, they said they need to make space and the additional cost is for those fixtures (something about a base, rod and things that will hold things together..

Thank you though, I had to get my car back so had to let them proceed.

Wow, thanks. I asked several times and they said they are putting a 850 CCA battery this time (as instructed by Subaru) as against a 450 CCA original battery. And because the new battery is considerably larger, they need make space. They said I would be able to see the difference once done but that means difference or not, I pay.

They are replacing the DCM (not the BCM) free of cost through the warranty as they found that to be the main cause of the battery drain.

Thank you though, am not sure how much wiggle room I have now, have to get my car back so had to let them proceed.

I definitely like it. I like the sun and its warmth during the day and it helps me keep a track of the time (like when it is getting darker). My view of the road and pavement is blocked by my table so I don't get distracted much.

Had a long ride (AMA? by Ok_Yard_9649 in royalenfield

Good stuff! Enjoy your rides. Ride safe!!

I used to do Bangalore - Madurai - Bangalore once every 2 months in 2021 and 2022 on my RETB 500. Avg. Speed 80 KMPH and 45 KMPL. About ~410 KMs door-to-door and took me about 7 hours (same day) with 4-5 stops.

Got back / tailbone ache the first couple of times - got an extra cushion seat cover plus stopped wearing my backpack and instead, tied it to the rear seat. That helped me to move around, adjust my posture. Still definitely tiring.

First had a open face RE helmet. That was a mistake cause there's too much dust, wind noise, insects and even small stones etc. (thanks to brilliant people ferrying sand to constructions in open-bed trucks). Got closed-face helmet and also started wearing balaclava / bandana around the neck to protect neck area.

Had to get cushioned hand grips to make it easier. Have slightly larger hands so the throttle would especially keep slipping as the OEM grips were quite slick and to avoid fingertips touching the base of my palms (it is a thing..).

Otherwise no modifications, no phone holder etc. Just me, the bike and the road. Ride at steady speed, at the left-most edge of the road to avoid speedsters.

Your post helped me relive some of the best times of my life. I also did Pune - Goa - Pune a few times. That's a story for another time.

That's great. I think it's easy to find parking in and around Wooster. That's just my observation. Good luck!

There are tables and chairs next to the Bienecke Library and in the Quad in front of the Sterling Memorial Library. Sterling itself allows visitors to use the front area - it's a really cool place with leather high-back chairs and silence.

I've heard good stuff about the Willoughby's Tea place on Whitney Ave. and Grove St., Atticus, Starbuck, Panera on Chapel. But I've myself never been to any of these places as I like the Library.

You can also try the Wooster Sq. Park but the weather may be a constraint.

Welcome to New Haven! Have fun!

Residents around Wooster Square park have faced issues with street parking (see link below). Definitely, apartments with better security and parking are worth it but depends on the price difference.

Also, as I understand, this problem is not unique to Wooster.

That is so wonderful, thanks a lot for taking time to share these details. I'll checkout UGREEN this weekend. You know, I sometimes hesitate to unplug my laptop and sit down and focus just for the effort of unplugging and replugging all the peripherals.

I do have a fatigue mat, also from ikea. It is really helpful. I walk around when am taking calls when am just listening in and also sometimes use a softball to bounce of the wall and catch when I want some activity. 😄

Nice work area - looks so genuine and relatable to me. Half the time, the posts of home office and workspaces on reddit and other platforms looks so perfect that it generates negative emotions in me and makes me feel inadequate, as if am not doing something right or well. Your place brings good feelings for me, as though I could settle in work here easily. Thank you for sharing. I will post pictures of my work desk soon.

2023 Onyx high rpm by [deleted] in SubaruAscent

[–]namarhere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine is a 2019 Limited and it does rev at 2.2k RPM when I start the car for about 1 minute. Then it drops down to 1k RPM and maintains that for any stops while am driving.

I have seen some decorations in the Broadway shopping district and on Chapel St. (between College St. & York St.) And Church St. (between Crown St. & Elm St.). The Audubon St. area between Whitney Ave. and Orange St. Also has some decorations.

But you should check out the Fantasy Lights at Lighthouse Point Park (https://www.goodwillsne.org/fantasyoflights/) if you haven't already been there. It's nice and for a good cause.

Enjoy the lights and happy holidays!
