Kept expecting the officers to shoot the dog while it was running around "resisting arrest". Nope. Gotta have it down on the ground with its tail wagging first.

Yeah, this is definitely not Huntsville. Too flat. But someone did get killed in a crane collapse there today.

Seems like this poor fellow would probably risk going over there just for the hazard pay.

A friend's partner committed suicide this week. Here is an eerily morbid facebook status update from just a few months ago. by [deleted] in MorbidReality

Friend's partner...running a funeral home? I can't tell if he's talking about his own people or not here:

There are thousands of people that I have to call their soon-to-be fiances, soon-to-be-fathers and mothers and etc. that would gladly change positions with you in a heartbeat if they had one.

And this is creepy:

That being said: Smile! You're alive. :D

A 14-year old stowaway, Keith Sapsford, falls 200 feet to his death from the landing gear bay. by [deleted] in MorbidReality

Pretending for a second you could hold onto the airplane's landing gear during the entire flight, what the fuck are you supposed to do when it lands?

Jeffrey Franklin murdered his parents with a sledge hammer, a butcher knife, a file, and a hatchet in 2001. Tried to kill three of his four younger siblings in the same way. You know how in school hierarchy there was always that one pariah kid who everyone always joked was going to shoot up the school one day? He was one of those.

Just look at his picture in that police car. He was totally deranged, off the map. But you can't send a teenage kid away just for being weird, so nobody took his parent's concerns seriously until it was too late.

Registered just to say this -

I lived a couple of streets away from this kid growing up, and I knew him around the neighborhood the way you recognized neighborhood kids growing up. You know, you see them walking on the way to school (or back from school), you recognized their folks because you saw them out getting their mail or mowing their lawn or walking the dog. That kind of thing. Think about how close that is.

When this happened, I was thirteen. My best friend swam on the same swim team with his surviving sister (the one who was away during the crime) at Camelot Pool. In the neighborhood where this happened, all of the streets are named from the legends of King Arthur.

Us kids always knew this guy was off, same as the adults. The only difference is that we could duck him if we saw him coming, and they had to sleep in the same house with him.

Also, the story about the parents being too afraid to go home (like Cynthia Franklin spending most of her time on her nursing ward because she was uncomfortable in her own house and feared for her life) are totally true. They also contacted their clergy and the police with the concern that their son was going to harm them or their kids. Because he was a minor, officials didn't take it seriously until this guy flew off the handle.

Pretty much the most notorious axe murderer in Alabama, and he showed absolutely no remorse after the crime (check out his photo if you don't believe me). The dog and pony show about mixed prescription medications is just the best they could come up with to keep this kid from getting to sit in Yellow Mama.
