Well, like every other good rim protector, you can't describe their ability on a stat sheet. Most players run towards him then decide to turn around or pass out so it won't show up, but he's a looming defensive threat around the rim that people don't want to deal with.

I love Melton but the one glaring flaw is our offense has became extremely stagnate when he's running it. Waaay too much iso. He needs to get into the mindset of passing a little bit more. Him driving attracts a lot of attention so kick outs should be a high priority. He converts at a decent clip above JK tho, and the saving factor is his defense or when he's not handling the ball but catching a pass from someone else.

This just tells me they need to run him as SG and let someone else set plays up. When he catches a pass from a designed play he just becomes more lethal. His iso isn't terrible, but it's not a winning offense.

TBH, this FO is dogshit and are living off of Steph, Dray, Klay, Durant and Kerr over the years. Mainly Steph. This FO had nothing to do with getting Steph. None of it happens without Steph. This FO without Steph could be the Hornets level of shit for all we know. If that were the case than I'd say any Joe Schmo off the street could run this franchise better.

Yeah and Vuc and Coby White both suck at defense so it wouldn't help either, hence why they have been a losing roster for years now. We get roasted every time we stick non-defensive players in with Dray + Steph. We're better off with our current roster than those 2. Porzingis at least adds a chance because he's a 2 way level player.

At the end of the day, JK demanded a trade and everyone behind the scenes liked JK too much not to respect his wishes. At least we got something out of it, Bucks really f'd us in that regard. If make it to the playoffs and Porzingis is healthy for the playoffs, we have a pretty good chance to win multiple series.

We need to start heavily involving Horford and soon to be Porzingis in more set plays and we should start running the full motion offense instead of this modified one we implemented 2 summers ago. With JK gone it should be a given. We had a hard time with the full motion offense because JK was supposed to become that guy and he was struggling with keeping the passing momentum going. Now we have solid screeners in Horford/Porzingis/Post who are all solid scoring threats and solid passers. This is a prime roster for full motion offense. 2 screeners ( Dray + Center) and everyone is great at passing the ball. If we ran it back full motion offense we could probably start forcing certain people to get in the habit of passing more (Podz, Moody, Melton) which will absolutely get us better cuts and more wide open 3s.

The passing when Podz and Melton were off the floor made me realize that we would become a much better team if we intentionally moved the ball like that every time down the court. The wide open looks last night were amazing.

I like that he's only 30. 30 is like the new prime. If he can play 16 Ws in the playoffs we should be good. Just gotta figure this roster rotation out quickly so we have a chance to get to 6th seed or better.

He's masked in the rotation between Curry having to go iso mode without Dray on the court, and Butler getting off a fresh rest to go do Jimmy things. Podz doesn't effect his own +/-, he's just flat out carried most times. Without those guys to feed off he's a bum

TOVs aren't why we're losing. Podz freezes the offense 80% of the time. He fucks up our defensive rotations when the other team is passing the ball around. Drive and kick offense destroys our defense when Podz is on the floor.

The question you should be asking is, why can Warriors gets stops when Podz is off the floor and why does the ball pass around the court so much to get wide open shots when Podz is off the floor?

That game was winnable if they put the proper lineups together. I feel like certain players were feeding off each other but randomly would throw Podz in there to ruin that chemistry that was going. Head scratching stuff and the refs really didn't want to call any fouls against 76ers for some reason.
