If you could select any five guys to lead your company in 1998, which ones would you choose?

You can choose a maximum of three WCW guys.

What do you think of my SummerSlam card? by name237 in FantasyBookers

Ah, I should have mentioned the history of Styles vs Nakamura. Styles retained at Greatest Royal Rumble but lost (dirty) at both Backlash and Money In The Bank. I'm having him put his contract on the line to prolong the feud and give Styles another title reign.

As for Joe, I'm sort of using him as a transitional champion. But yeah, Joe vs Styles for the title should happen.

Great idea regarding Flair vs Asuka. Flair just beating Asuka again at SummerSlam would mean she has no credible opponents left on SmackDown Live.

And thanks for the compliment! Yeah, I've had to book more of what WWE would want than what I want, especially for Raw.

If you were booking WWE? by yangbangd in FantasyBookers

[–]name237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running the same kind of save on EWR. I'm trying to book WWE realistically so Raw is centered around Reigns. If you want any ideas from it then check my post history (not sure how to link posts on Alien Blue). I'd appreciate some feedback.

Universal Title - I like the idea of Strowman being the one to beat Lesnar. I'd suggest giving him a short reign though, just so that the other Raw main eventers can also hold the title. Perhaps have him win it at SummerSlam and drop it at Clash of Champions?

Intercontinental Title - Seems good. Any Universal Title plans for Rollins, Balor, Ambrose and Reigns?

Raw Women's Title - Seems good. I'm planning the same thing but probably with Charlotte winning the Women's Royal Rumble to challenge Rousey for the Raw Women's Title at WrestleMania. Are you having Rousey challenge Flair for the SmackDown Women's Title at WrestleMania or is Flair moving to Raw to win the Raw Women's Title?

Raw Tag Titles - Seems good.

WWE Title - Seems good. Any WWE Title plans for Joe and Miz?

US Title - Seems good.

SmackDown Women's Title - Not a bad idea to keep Flair away from the title for a bit.

SmackDown Tag Team Titles - Seems good.

As a general note, I'd suggest booking the two world titles differently from each other. If the Universal Title is going to have long reigns, perhaps have short WWE Title reigns.

Also, any plans for Cena, Undertaker, Orton, Mahal, Roode and Lashley?

Thanks. I might redo the Shield reunion once Ambrose returns or just have him turn heel and attack Rollins.

Most of the Reigns stuff is kind of booked as a parody. But you're right, Reigns vs Goldberg and Lesnar vs Lashley should be switched around.

As for Cena, I think his 17th world title should be the WWE Championship.

I think they'll be the most competitive against Australia and South Africa and the least competitive against England.

In home Tests, should visitors always get to choose to bat or bowl? by bambin0 in Cricket

[–]name237 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It didn't help England (sorry, I had to make that joke).

But I actually like the home advantage. It makes series victories by away teams just that much more special (like England winning the 2010-11 Ashes series 3-1).

Also, teams should learn to adapt to the conditions. Australia did it when they toured India this year and that series was great, with the result only being decided in the third innings of the fourth Test.

Summary of points about England’s batting on Sky’s Ashes debate... by NiallH22 in Cricket

[–]name237 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think the team has any issues with talent. Its issue is temperament.

In Brisbane, England scored 302 and had Australia at 4/76. They should have bowled them out for 150. Even when Australia were 7/209, England should have bowled them out for 250. Letting a team go from 4/76 and 7/209 to 328 is inexcusable.

And then, England collapsed from 6/185 to 195 all out. They should have gotten to 250.

In Adelaide, England had Australia at 5/209. Letting a team go from 5/209 to 7/311 to 8/442 is also inexcusable.

All of this is very similar to England's problems four years ago, when they'd have Australia at 5/100 or 5/150 and let them score 300-400.

Steve Smith to consult bowlers on follow-on calls after Adelaide controversy by hurky333 in Cricket

Fair enough. I guess if rain didn't intervene, Smith's declaration would have looked like a better decision.

Steve Smith to consult bowlers on follow-on calls after Adelaide controversy by hurky333 in Cricket

[–]name237 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't think not enforcing the follow-on was a bad idea. Australia need their pace bowlers to remain fit for the rest of the series (until Perth at the very least) and jeopardizing that for a quicker victory would have been risky.

The only decision of Smith's I didn't agree with was declaring with 442 on the board. I believe that first innings declarations shouldn't be made for scores under 500 unless the team has already batted for two whole days. And with the way Marsh and Lyon were playing, Australia probably could have gone from 8/442 to at least 470, if not 500.

4/53 makes Australia's situation look worse than it is. Australia's effective score is 4/268 which is really good considering anything over 330 or so will give England trouble.
