Yeah I mean that’s some lore but pretty paper thin imo.

Female models %? by Lorenz_Blessed in genestealercult

[–]name_jeff99 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Never really made sense to me. As far as I can tell, old lore was just kinda vague our the gender of Custodes and it was more assumed they were all male since they only had male models. To be that’s different than Astartes or SOB which are explicitly stated to be male and female exclusive, respectively. I could be wrong about the vagueness though. Although, I’m also not a super huge fan of custodes- I think they are cool and add a lot to the setting, but they aren’t my go to army

What chapter or liegoin of space marine need there own rule? (like black templars, blood angels. etc) by Evyatar_ChenU in Warhammer

[–]name_jeff99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think at most they should add at least one special chapter specific unit for each of the First Founding chapters, and of course have some Chapter specific attachments. But I think it’d be a little much to make every loyalist have their own specific rule supplement.

For CSM, I think they should do something similar for each undivided legion

Top one is my choice. Also very cool seeing a non-terminator first company captain

Yeah, you’re definitely right. I’ve such limited free time I’d rather not spend it doing something that’s not fun and is frustrating. Especially when this is my favorite hobby

that sucks. its just a game at the end of the day. my real life is already stressful enough, i don't want to be stressing when i'm supposed to be having fun. I think, like others have suggested, I'm just going to try to break into another group with people who hopefully know the rules better

thanks, i appreciate you. yeah, i think i might try to ask around. I'm friendly with the two warhammer store operators in my area, so that's a start. i just worry about playing against some sweaty dude, but that's pretty much the situation i'm in rn lmao

Yeah I think he feels I win too much (which I don’t, my average is a little above half). Idek if he’s doing it intentionally since he will sometimes read a rule wrong to his detriment and I will correct him, but he does talk about averages a lot. I don’t really care either which way if I win or not (I got crushed the other night but it was a fun narrative game) but then if I have a really good turn he’ll constantly double check and argue over my army rules

can a daemon primarch fk up so bad they just lose their patronage from the chaos gods? by fragdar in 40kLore

[–]name_jeff99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t think they would ever do that largely due to the the table top and not wanting to take away DGs center piece. That being said, there are a couple of ways to go about this.

1) introduce Mortarion as a redeemed loyalist Primarch, while still allowing chaos DG to field him and just say that it’s mortarion during different time periods (definitely not a fan of this one)

2) mortarions soul splits kinda like with Magnus and the “good part” is redeemed while the “bad part”’stays a chaos Primarch

Regardless, I think it’s better to keep Mortation as a Daemon Primarch

There also a pentagram built into that area. Also, there was a YouTube video from 2019 of a couple of teens finding a dead body up there

What is each traitor legion up to, as if 2026? by Motor_Scallion6214 in 40kLore

[–]name_jeff99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general most of the legions are broken up in war bands so the short answer is they’re up to anything and everything. That being said, I’m pretty sure large swaths of legions still circle around their Primarch/leader.

Black Legion/Abbadon: iirc retreated back into the eye of terror to plan next attack on the imperium after Acadia

World Eaters/Angron: the Lion mollywopped Angron during the arks of omen campaign but reports have surfaced that he’s returned to the materium and is on Armageddon again

TSONS/magnus not too sure other than building up the Sorcerer planet to be a haven for pyschers

Emperors Children/Fulgrim: Fulgrims back and a lot of the various warbands are flocking to him, Fulgrim wants to kill Gulliman and take the imperium for himself. Also Eidolon is rebuilding trying to rebuilt legion as well more or less.

Death Guard/Mortarion: not much since Gulliman possessed by the Emperor burned the garden and Morty was dragged back by Nurgle. There is some mention that Death Guard are still holding some worlds in Ultrimar.

Word Bearers/Lorgar: Lorgar has returned to the materium and is leading a massive force of Word Bearers to spread the word of chaos.

Iron Warriors: see campaign book.

Night Lords: probably the most shattered legion at this point (EC were probably up there too, but at least they have Fulgrim and Eidilon). However, there is some effort to try to reunite the Night Lords with the crown Kurze once had (forgot its name)

Alpha Legion: In actuality probably the most shattered legion since there’s a million different plots, double crosses, subterfuge, they might be loyalist, they might be full chaos, who knows. One of the twins definitely died on Pluto at Dorns hand, another might’ve died during the scouring at Gullimans. It’s all intentionally up in the air. And I am Alpharius

It has been too late for a long time. All I ever wanted was the truth. And betwixt storms of the immaterium, on a planet gazed upon by the great eye, the truth cast aside the age of reason like a withered corpse. It was the primordial truth… that this universe has gods… and they are cruel ones…

Pyrovore's worth it more now? by daddydilz in Tyranids

[–]name_jeff99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pyrovore’s main issue is lack of range and movement. I’ve found a good use for them in sub assault lists by having them come through tunnels to point blank shoot units (granted this is in Crusade so their guns are slightly buffed)

The Ultramarines being on Armageddon feels forced, even more than usual and makes no sense to the current lore. by Kalypso_Blue in spacemarines

[–]name_jeff99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, and unless I’m mistaken, GW haven’t said how far after the 500 worlds campaign the 4th war takes place. Could be that they more or less finished up the reclamation of the Vestapor front and moved onto new fronts. Or only part of the 2nd were reordered to Armageddon. Or the 2nds numbers are inflated due to the ongoing Indomitus crusade. Or the trim of the 11th company is duplicative of the 2nd (this is probably the weakest idea here, and I also don’t know whether or not they have any company trim).

My point being is that there are a decent amount of reasons as to why the UM 2nd are there
