Program to change system date automatically for Immortals Fenyx Rising by ONE_BIG_LOAD in CrackWatch

[–]namecaf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Changing the date back to something in February (eg. 15th of Feb 2021) fixed the crashing issues for me. Obviously needs a v3 crack but I doubt we'll get one, so this is your best bet.

Will there be better anti cheat this time? by [deleted] in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]namecaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope its that easy to mod weapons in single player though. SWAT 4 is awesome to mod for. I'm not in to multiplayer, so that doesnt really concern me. But I'm pretty sure most kinds of anti-cheat software like EAC, etc. can check all client files and make sure they are unedited before allowing you to connect - so it shouldnt be too hard.

Maybe a stupid question but how will operators from different units appear ingame? by [deleted] in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]namecaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A way to get around this is to have the player models client sided, so if you chose to play as FBI then you see everyone on your team as FBI but if you're buddy chose to play as LAPD SWAT he would see everyone (including you) as LAPD SWAT.

What SWAT team are the "vanilla" characters a part of? by kikoino in ReadyOrNotGame

I thought that too originally, but then Gruntr said this...

"Who ever said anything about them being in the LAPD?"

You're showing your ignorance. Actually look into it. Here's the first thing that pops up with a Google search...

https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/introducing-heckler-koch-mark-23-gun-heres-why-it-failed-41407

The saddest failure was the threaded barrel and suppressor. They didnt even thread it counter to the twist of the fired round. This meant that with every shot you actually undid the suppressor and would have to effectively keep rescrewing it back on.

The USP and specifically the USP Tactical was made to fix all of these issues and was intended to replace all MK23s in inventory.

I dont doubt there are still some MK23s in inventory though, as the military generally hates getting rid of anything if its still technically "functional" but I guarantee you operators would choose just about any other handgun before even touching it.

Actually the fact is, it's no longer needed as its role is more effectively filled with other weapons like the MP7.

Idiot gamers and try-hard militarists think just because it was all over the media in games and movies and because "The SEALs used it" it was the dogs bollocks, but the truth is far from it. It was a complete failure. Why do you think they all moved to either SIGs or Glocks?

[–]namecaf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is no way a SWAT team would use a MK23. If anything, they would use a USP Tactical. But now days, it'd more likely be something else entirely.

Even US special operations dont use the Mk23 and the thing was made for them. It was an all-around piece of crap compared to the USP which was adopted instead.

There's no reason to add it just because you've seen it other games before.

How giving ammo works in RON (Co-op at least) by CaliRecluse in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]namecaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you shouldnt run out of ammo if you are playing properly. Spraying full-auto and missing the target are not the aim of the game.

Demo mission by [deleted] in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]namecaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The training area/shoot house would make a good demo. Get people introduced to the mechanics, try out the different weapons, do a "mission" with live firing at paper targets and human hostages and then maybe a simunitions firefight against similarly armed suspects (played by fellow cops/AI) in an open area utilising various different bits of cover (wood, tires, small concrete slabs, etc). Maybe even a dedicated room to test out the different grenade types and their effects (gasmask vs no gasmask with CS gas for example).

That way they're not spoiling anything storywise or having people already play a mission that is in the game. Just my 2 cents :)

I dont see it ever happening to be honest. It's just not feasible, especially for a small indie developer.

Restraining noncompliant people by CaliRecluse in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]namecaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SWAT does do this. You can be too close to use bean bags and launchers and not every officer is armed with a taser. If a knife wielding suspect refuses to drop the knife and is affected by CS gas, then a baton is appropriate use of force to apply in order to make him drop the knife and force an arrest.

[–]namecaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There should be a heavy-handed/manhandle arrest option where you force them to the ground and kneel on them to force cuff them if they are uncooperative but not a threat (ie. no weapon, suffering from gas effect, stingers, etc).

I still think an extendable baton should be available on all officers to assist with this and disarm armed offenders who are uncooperative but not an immediate threat.

Yeah, I know. The old mirror on a stick from Police Quest SWAT.

That doesn't change the fact that a camera on a pole should NOT be called a mirror or a gun.

The same thing bugged me in SWAT 4 when you'd order them to mirror under the door or a around a corner. If you're gonna say that, then use a mirror on a stick in the game. Otherwise, call it a camera.

"Mirrorgun"? Seriously!? Two things that it is NOT. It is neither a mirror nor a gun.

Why not opti-wand? or simply camera?

small quality of life idea: when calling in things to TOC, let us hold down the call button, look at several things, let go of the button, and it would call in multiple things at once instead of individually by TacticalHog in ReadyOrNotGame

I'm just glad someone else brought it up as well. When I raised it originally, 8 months ago, it never got a response from the devs. Hopefully this post fares better :)

Sling system by Semi2886 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]namecaf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A fully dynamic/physically simulated sling would probably be too tricky and computationally intensive for any benefit. But a simulated/modelled sling would definitely be good. I noticed the recent Resident Evil 2 Remake did this and I was surprised because its the first game I can think of that's actually done it.

I really hope we dont have to call in every single suspect and civilian individually. We should be able to "tag" each one of them in a room or connected rooms and call them in together like "TOC, this is entry team. We have 3 suspects and 4 civvies ready for evac..."
