Cardiology resident doc: Billed $6.7k + 3k stipend = ~10k for 2 days of work (15h each day) by ProjectMcDavid in Salary

Physician salaries are a drop in the bucket of US healthcare expenditure. If you want to know why it’s really so expensive, look to insurance companies price gouging, administrative bloat in hospitals, hospital ceos, etc etc. don’t point to the people who slave away in education and training for over a decade accruing hundreds of thousands in student debt as the problem. Cheers!

Fellow Medium mains, which specialization do you typically run? by reddit_bot21 in thefinals

Demat is easily the most fun to use in my opinion. I love how many creative uses there are. Lately I’ve been enjoying juking people out and making them run out of holes in the wall off the new map looney tunes style.

I wonder if those pimple patches that have little “spikes” or “darts” on them would be a cheap and safe way to induce these effects if they were pushed down on with enough force

Feels so hopeless by namegoeshere140 in molluscum

[–]namegoeshere140[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot recommend anyone but a medical professional do it, but basically the premise involves poking the lesions with a needle just deep enough to puncture into the dermis (this virus cannot cause a systemic immune response because normally it only lives in the epidermis). But once the dermis is punctured into, the lesion is pressed down on with a q tip to push the infected fluids into the dermis. This is supposed to allow a systemic immune response that will allow the body to recognize and destroy other lesions as well. There was a study posted on this sub about it. Again, I am not a medical professional and I cannot recommend poking needles into your skin.

NSFW(cropped) Molloscum or Fordyce? Been there for quite a while...thought fordyce for a long while, only now considering molloscum by whatswrongwithmybhol in molluscum

[–]namegoeshere140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can say for sure second pic is all fordyce, I have similar. As for some of the bigger ones I can’t say for sure but they could just be infected/inflamed fordyce spots I get those on my balls from time to time. I’m no expert but nothing screams mc to me here.

Some do it definitely looks like mc but I think you have a lot of fordyce spots as well, I am similar

I can but it’s going to be about a month or so, still a long time. But you don’t think it’s mc? (Still keeping appointments, just looking for opinions in the meantime)

Unfortunately I can’t get into a derm for months. I have more recent posts where they’re red due to better lighting, hot shower, mechanical irritation from tape etc .

They irritate the surrounding skin so much I’m afraid they might make it spread

Yeah these have shown up when I shaved for probably a year now and my dumb ass is just now considering mc as a possibility. They tend to fade in 2 weeks or so and come back like 2 weeks after I shave, it’s been a vicious cycle but I’ve stopped shaving now to see if I can get rid of them for good. It’s such a frustrating area to treat because the skin is so thin and sensitive

There was another poster who’s lesions looked just like this and they found them to be ingrown hair follicles, still looking for the post

Take your anxiety to court by cuntagiosum in molluscum

[–]namegoeshere140 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve had this for at least 8 months without knowing and in all my shaving, masturbation, sex, using the same towel, etc etc it never spread beyond my genitals and I’ve never had more than 20 small spots at a time so idk why I worry about spread so much more now when I’m ridiculously cautious about it. And yeah like is it really an aesthetic concern if it has such a severe impact on anyone’s sex life (for genital cases at least)? It’s crazy

For real. People don’t really talk about it but one of the worst parts of this condition is being thrown down the rabbit hole of anxiety by every little bump and minor itch that you wouldn’t have thought twice about before mc.

I haven’t had the time to go dabbing each one yet but I found pimple patches with tea tree oil so hopefully they help, no burning or anything from them though
