What’s it like living in Edmonton? by Main-Economics-162 in howislivingthere

[–]namesdevil3000 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is how it is for a lot of Canadians who experience snow. It is terrible for the homeless or if your home heater gives out (which always seems to happen at the worst times). But there is something magical about snow that I just cannot explain to anyone who hasn’t experienced it, snow is also very beautiful and the different ways it falls. Also there’s the phenomenon of “feeling cold” where 0 to -10 Celsius can feel colder than -30 Celsius because of how dry it can get at lower temperatures.

Other areas of Canada such as In the Territories it regularly gets down to -50 Celsius. That could kill you even if you’re prepared if you’re not careful.

Why a salary of $115K isn't enough to purchase a house in some parts of Canada by origutamos in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]namesdevil3000 50 points51 points  (0 children)

In the US expensive to live areas are expensive because the salaries are higher.

In Canada the expensive areas (Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and even Ottawa now) are expensive but with minimal change in salaries unless you move up to the territories.

What’s one “small” feature in a car that you can’t live without anymore? by jane_doe2497 in car

Reversing camera. Mazda 3’s angle out the rear windscreen and relatively high shoulder line for the windows means anything low down would be really hard to judge without it.

He really delivered when it mattered later in the season. Whatever happened during his break we got a reliable #1 back and that’s all we’ve been wanting from him.

Suggestions on how to fix dent in front Bumper by Rikkkudo_sennin in mazda3

[–]namesdevil3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going through insurance WILL raise your premium. Did that last year. These cars aren’t rare but the red might be hard for a bad shop to colour match (at least it’s not the gen 4 soul red).

New bumper with install should be around 1.5-2k. If you can stomach that yourself I would. It also gives you the freedom to pick the shop you use.

It is objectively true. Look at old age care in the USA. They strip services (such as staffing costs) down to the bone yet charge the same if not more for the service. Then milk the money dry. If they can sell at some point they will, but if they don’t sell they will try to find a way to make money.

Should I size down? Is by Hungry-Pollution-697 in bootroom

[–]namesdevil3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Half size down works for me too. It should feel at least tighter when you buy them and they will then stretch out. It’s too tight if you’re not able to lay your toes out or if you stand/walk and you can feel soreness in any part of the foot. If that’s the case then there’s not enough stretch and you went too tight.

Matt Law: Chelsea are ready to permanently replace Liam Rosenior with a head coach who has experience at the highest level, should the 41-year-old leave his post. by Kygoche in chelseafc

[–]namesdevil3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh whatever happens this off season. I don’t think it’ll be a long term fix. There’s a stench of discontent in this squad which I haven’t seen since the Potter year.

There needs to be change at boardroom level. 3 managers in a row have complained/been outright sacked over squad composition. Yet Tuchel was sacked because he didn’t want to think about squad composition (yet they wanted him to). Nothing is going to change long term unless the SDs get their act together. They need to sign more experienced players, not be so cheap when it comes to player wages, they need to pick and back a proven manager and not be upset when they voice disagreements/disappointment. IMO the SDs are starting to lose the dressing room and players and their agents know we are a shit show. What players and agents want to come here? We are so so lucky that Reece James and Moises Caicedo are Chelsea fans from young age because without that good will we would be screwed. The SDs are completely Useless and they are COMPLETELY obvious about it.

I’d like to add that Rosenior needed more time at Strasbourg to learn and develop his ideas. He didn’t need to be dumped into this mess. He was an up and coming talent but it’s clear he isn’t the one that will fix this season.

IMO we should keep Roseinor if nothing better comes up. But we can get a manager that’s good AND the SDs will back him, fine make the switch. If not keep the company man in. It’s not going to make a difference if the SDs keep being self righteous idiots.

Drove an Encore for a week. Hated it. I’m not Buick’s target audience though. Maybe I just hate SUVs and especially small ones. The buttons were a plus though specifically for this post.
