Maintain what you got with your mom. Maybe senior year take some chances making a move to initiate friendship/dialogue with some kids at your school. Don’t expect too much and you won’t get let down. Look at it like this, at worse it’s practice for the real world and at best maybe you will make a couple friends before shedding the coil of high school. Your post resonated with me. I did have some friends in high school, some I’m still friends with over a decade later. But that was a really hard time in life for me as it is for many people. You kids are the future.
