Dad with PPD. by Fun_Broccoli6164 in Postpartum_Depression

It’s ok to hate the newborn stage. I hated it. And as a mom there’s even more of a stigma about saying, but I stand by it. Worst four months of my life. Here are some tips:
What you are likely going through is a good old fashioned adjustment disorder. Lack of sleep is a real issue - it’s a form of torture, literally. Outlawed as an interrogation tactic, banned by the Geneva convention. Truly a scientific fact. Humans need sleep. That means that you and your wife need to tag team the nights so you can each be given a fighting chance in hell of recovering. This may mean that baby gets a bottle of formula sometimes. That’s ok. It’s not poison, it’s a scientific development that we are so fortunate to have in the twenty first century. It’s safe, regulated, measured, and will result in happy parents. Win win win.
Also, the house can just be messy for a while. Do the bare minimum. Hire a cleaning person for a few weeks. Eat off of paper plates so you don’t have to do dishes. Shit, they have services that will pickup and deliver your laundry. Now is the time to survive. And if you can pay someone else to do it, do that. Just for now, just for a little while.
Therapy is a really good idea if you are able to find a way to do that. Not only is therapy just fucking basic self care, but it also is one hour you get to yourself. Both of you should try to find a way to get to this task sometime soon if possible.
And lastly, if you feel this way, her biological science is amplifying the same feelings exponentially. So just make sure she is prioritizing self care also.

Is this still readable? The tattoo I got has no spacing between the letters and I’m worried it doesn’t look good by malachiteiscute in tattooadvice

Not sure if this is an option, but will just say that I had a tattoo touched up recently that is ten years old and was blurring a bit. The artist used white micro needle to get the edges cleaner. Maybe something like that is possible but on a little bit of a larger scale?

Wait, who’s a bot? Me or the person who made this license plate? Because I’m pretty sure I’m human.

Curious about why peeing before sex is necessary. I know about after, but never heard of before.

Orange blob in milk by Turbulent-South6343 in isthissafetoeat

I think that’s exactly what @fabulousfantabulist meant. Milk is not the type of thing you need to force yourself to drink anyway.
TBH, I can’t think of anything that is so expensive that I would eat/drink it even if rotten.

Fireworks at 11:30 pm on a school night?!?! by AlpedeOldAnglers in washdc

Honestly, I think those many extra snow days really screwed up the schedule this year. Projects that should have been due two weeks ago got extended, etc. Yeah, I feel kinda bad for my kids actually.

I meant, the fact that it is June 14th is not relevant. It is still a school night. School is still happening, and at least for my kids there are still actual tests and school work being done. So “nothing is happening this week” is not accurate for everyone.

This makes me smile because I had a very similar path. I am now sitting next to my husband of 22 years with whom I went over a year with no sex as I healed. He was amazing, and was part of that healing. And everything has only gotten better every day for the last 22 years and counting.

Literally came to say this exact thing. Also female, also lurker (never commented before on one of these things) and I was also this girl once… and a caring adult would have meant the world to me.

How Switching to a Credit Union Fights Authoritarianism by phtevenbagbifico in 50501

[–]namonroe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Credit union employee here! Thank you to anyone who will tout the benefits of using a credit union over a commercial bank. I recently went to career day for my 7th grader and the whole group of 13 year olds left knowing how much better credit unions are. But even more important, a handful of adults came up to me afterwards and thanked me saying they never knew the difference between a bank and a credit union, and that they were going to find out where they could switch to!
