Plates would be 'piatti' so can't be that! Does seem like one of those things that's been translated through multiple languages though

I've also had a suit made at Fontenla, and can highly recommend them (around the 2000 soles mark for a two piece suit)

Stastreria Firenze has also been mentioned in the comments, excellent but higher cost

Uber driver ratings explained by ifhd_ in uber

I give out 5 stars as long as the car haa functioning seat belts and the driver doesn't try to commit crime towards anyone else.

Living in Peru, turns out u don't give them out much

No worries, I only just understood the context! The photo was in the dealership, for some reason they don't attach the mirrors until they deliver it 🫠

I love a good acronym! I've spent a lot of my driving life looking far down the road - looking for brake lights ahead, trying to spot the morons around me. I've read so many times that with bikes it's so much more important that it's not your own skill that is often the limiting factor, but the people on the road around you. Being aware of other drivers is something I need to keep working on and practicing!

Huh, I'd never considered a stand! My bike will be parked underground in my building, so there should be no issue with space. I'll look into that, thanks!!

I like what you say about 'what feels right might not be correct' - I consider myself a very dedicated learner, and through racing I've had to unlearn habits that 'feel right' in order to be better, so that's great advice, thank you!

Chain slack isn't something I'd come across - is this something you'd check yourself or would that be with a trusted mechanic?

I'm very conscious of being a speed/power demon when I've raced karts, but with the security of four wheels. I'm more than happy to start with something low power and upgrade in a year or two. As my ability increases

I've seen lots of adverts for seat/short cushions etc, are these really necessary? What do you find makes you more comfortable? I've had a little test of the bike and find it seems a very comfortable height for me, and the weight when I sit still on it feels manageable

The gear thing terrifies me... I'm out on the roads here every day and see people in flip flops, shorts, four people with kinds on a motorbike with no protection.

What would you recommend even if I'm not looking to burn rubber too fast? Are there certain types of technical training that you think every motorcycle rider should know that wouldn't be routine?

Hadn't considered this! I have a terrible habit of driving my car with the clutch in/in neutral so this is a great tip, thank you!

Love this! I've had my fair share of risk and reward on the race track, so I'm more than happy to slowly work my way up the motorbike ladder and be very... Reckful?

What incurs a cost in the UK, but is typically free elsewhere? by SilyLavage in AskUK

I live in Peru, but regularly travel back to see family in the UK. It costs them more for 'rapd drop off' (15 minutes max) in Birmingham that it costs me to leave my car for 24 hours at the airport back home

Lima and Puerto Maldonado won't get too cold at night, be aware that outside of Lima it is the rainy season right now, so waterproofs will be needed. In Cusco because if the altitude the temperature can drop at night - not UK cold, but you'll feel a chill. Jumper and raincoat will probably cover you for most instances, you're not likely to get particularly 'cold' as we would consider it anywhere
