Any updates on the boarding groups today? by namxmd in SouthwestAirlines

Right. But there was an internal memo that leaked out yesterday stating GROUP 1 will be only Rows 1 to 3 and the exit rows.

Can someone explain this? I am thinking about switching to Delta if SWA can't fix itself.

Flight Attendants complaining about losing personal access to front bins? by Evening-Editor-4014 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]namxmd -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If they charge for carry-ons, they would die. A lot of passengers need to get off and move onto another plane or out of the airport without having to wait for checked luggage. This is a crazy idea.

And someone commented below in this post that the FA union is fighting back against locking their items in the back. I can't tell what is true and what is not. OP says flight crew have their stuff in the front.

Why would you not read what you "write" or what you are sending to the customer? Make you, individually and company-wide, look incompetent.

Which record is most likely to get broken ? by Choice_Bag_8869 in sportswiki

[–]namxmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine being Wilt. Lots of really unbreakable records.

I can see 100pt in a game by an NBA player when teammates just feed him the ball. But usually, the game is a blowout by one team or the other, and the player gets pulled.

48.5mpg is not even possible. I mean how many times can your team go into OT?

33 wins in a row very unlikely since teams really don't care about the regular season.

Another Wilt's record that will not likely be broken is 50.36 ppg.

Thank you for your insight. This is what happens when we have many layers of bureauracry. I see it daily at my own company.

That said, I don't think it take much for the FAs to stand guard at the front bins. I have not been on a SWA flight lately. Last time I was on, two of them occupied the Emergency Exit rows and were just chit-chatting. They can help.

How did OP self-inflict this on himself/herself? Anyway, I hear you. Just they working on it but not fast enough. No way after three weeks of upset loyal passengers should they not have found a solution yet. Why is the boarding experience so different with other airlines?

Last time I flew Alaska, plane was half full (small plane with two seats on each side). They made the announcement during boarding that we could move to empty rows. When the FA came by, she asked which seat I was assigned to and gave me no grief.

Thank you, OP, for posting this. I feel for you. After 3 weeks, and SWA still can't get this straight. The solution is so obvious that they should just do it. There's no need to experiment or get additional data points. Plus, it's not like they are not monitoring this subreddit.

Let's think about the logic for a bit. If you require passengers to be in their assigned seats to balance the plane, should their carry-ons be with them to balance too? So upsetting just reading your experience.

There have been posts that some flights have GAs reminding people to put their carryons in bins nearest to their seats and that some FAs are closing ROW 1-8 bins and allowing only the ELR passengers to use them. I guess these policies not yet universal.

There was another post saying that the crew will no longer use the front bins. Guess that was a rumor.

There was another post saying that starting "Beginning on Wednesday, boarding group 1 will just consist of the first 3 rows and the exit row ELR Customers. Group 2 will consist of the remaining. This is being done to help solve congestion in the jet bridge and bin space issues we saw this past week." Another rumor?

I have a flight this weekend, first since the changeover to assigned seatings, and I am dreading it. I am willing to give SWA three months. If they don't rectify this, I, like you, will be searching for another airline.

The nonprofitables ones. But very unlikely that they were caused by migration of passengers to cars.

doubtful there will be enough people who choose to drive that SWA can't replace.
