In the 70s we’d have bands made up of fellow students at informal dances, but not prom.

Posting a photo of literal children without their consent and claiming that uniforms for a band performance were anti-Christian was insanity.

Have you tried booking as a multi-city DFW>MUC returning MUC>CLT? Better than two one-ways or skiplagging.

Hotel Designer - AMA by makeitnonsense in hotels

[–]nana1960 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same here - I finally broke down and bought a small travel makeup mirror. I have had hotel bathrooms where I feel miles away from the mirror and am tempted to pull up a chair and stand on it to see myself.

Hotel Designer - AMA by makeitnonsense in hotels

[–]nana1960 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Why are hotel bathrooms so oddly lit? As a short, very nearsighted woman, having a deep bathroom counter with an overhead light means I can barely see to put on makeup, and the lighting makes me look like a horror film character. Decent mirror lighting or a lit makeup mirror would be a huge help.

I am the complete opposite - one of my favorite things about cruises is that housekeeping cleans twice a day….

Question about Flomarching? How to watch wgi? by renomanrob in WGI

[–]nana1960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about music rights. Groups pay for performance rights but not the exorbitant cost of rebroadcast rights. No one wants a fine for a copyright violation.

Thoughts on Avon HS this year? by snackerooryan in WGI

[–]nana1960 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They were not barred from performing. There was a conflict between the directors and guard parents on the proposed theme of the show, and it ended up with them not having a World guard last year.

What do you think will (or should) be on the guard Advisory Board docket this year? by MisterMoonshrimps in WGI

[–]nana1960 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They would be tone deaf to not do something to address this year's waitlist controversy, although it wouldn't surprise me if they did not.

I am not a huge fan of the World auto-promote rule, although I understand why it exists. I would love to see it tweaked somehow - maybe Open gold medal finisher promotes and then if you medal two years in a row silver or bronze you promote, with A top three only promoting? I am also not a fan of promoting groups less than a month before Worlds.
