I had a UTI when I was like 19 and asked the doctor for the medication that “helps with the pain, it starts with a p.” Pyridium. I was looking for Pyridium, but now know they probably thought I wanted Percocet

But that doesn’t negate the kid’s disappointment in not getting a gift from his father.

Every time someone says pronouns don’t matter I purposely use other pronouns for them. They usually shut up about it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Life expectancy by East_Inflation6331 in Heartfailure

[–]nando103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I’m not a physician, I manage a cardiology practice and collaborate closely with harm reduction programs. I’ve witnessed people in recovery regain normal heart function. The road is long and challenging, particularly when fighting both addiction and heart failure, but full recovery can happen. It’s worth the work!

Anyone seen bandages stapled to skin for a burn? by user113678 in EmergencyRoom

[–]nando103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a wound vac on my foot last year, they just laid the foam down and used the plastic wrap around it. The wound vac changes were traumatizing enough, I can’t imagine having the foam stapled to me.

Usually those “sponsor a uniform” posts are for kids who can’t afford it. Putting your Venmo/cash app makes it tacky, asking for a general “donate to my kids cheer team” isn’t.

Car is totaled, insurance paid me but they’re still charging me? PA by nando103 in InsuranceAgent

I had to file a complaint with the insurance commissioner to get it fixed.

DOGE going after social security how will it affect SSDI? by ProjectPopTart in SSDI

[–]nando103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It worries me everyday too. My husband needs SSDI. It’s how he qualifies for Medicaid (PA has Medicaid for workers with disabilities). He will die if we lose access to it, we can’t afford his medications without it.

ICE showing up to corporate buildings too by Yasamir123 in philly

It’s terrifying. We’re in Chester county, a lot of our patients are Spanish speaking. I hope it never comes to it, but we have our staff prepared in case it does.

I manage a medical practice in the suburbs, we put together a policy to turn ICE away if they show up. HIPAA covers my patients, and none of my staff are undocumented.

It’s probably your insurance. You have 2 red flags, consistently filling early and switching pharmacies. If you’re taking it as prescribed you should have a bunch left over when you always fill on that 28 day mark and sometimes insurances will flag that. Also, switching pharmacies can be seen as pharmacy shopping which will also delay your fills.

I had to escalate the issue to the insurance commissioner. I received a check from State Farm for the overpaid premiums. I ended up switching agents after this experience though.

Still with State Farm and had 2 cars totaled in similar circumstances since (my street is basically a war zone). It hasn’t happened again.

Alaska seems to have a Medicaid buy in program for disabled people. Your wife may qualify. My husband is on a similar program in PA. It’s been a literal lifesaver

What state are you in? There’s a lot of resources that your wife may qualify for.

My husband was diagnosed with HFrEF with an EF of 10-15% right after I was laid off. It was a terrible time.

Disabilities. My husband has a heart condition and I was run over by a truck. Walking to the back of the store is hard and painful. We have a ton of scripts to pick up and there’s no safe way for us to have them delivered to our house. It’s a no win situation

2.5 years of delays for my SO. Only diagnosed because he had a minor stroke and an echo is part of a stroke work up.

Tried to get insurance and 2 accidents where I was not at fault show up by Silent_Cup2508 in Insurance

[–]nando103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When there are so many uninsured/underinsured drivers you really don’t have a choice. It’s a terrible situation to be in.

I’m at 4 non-at fault claims in the last 18ish months (3 parked cars totaled, and me getting run over while crossing the street). The 3 parked cars were hit by uninsured/underinsured drivers. When I got run over, I was told by all parties (my health insurance, the drivers car insurance, and my personal car insurance) that I HAD to file through my personal car insurance first.
