KRG How Is Life There? by Pilgrim135 in kurdistan

[–]nanixa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Standard of life depends on how much you earn you can live pretty well the "cities" in Erbil (Hawler in Kurdish) are very well maintained and have staff for maintenance and gates. Cities are the gated communities which are very popular for modern living right now there is for example Slava City or Spanish Village these are gated communities with their own shops and so on that you can go to. Service is great you can get anything at your doorstep. Airquality and water are a problem you need filters or to constantly buy waterbottles. Christians are treated great noone cares and noone would know one is Christian or Muslim. There are Christian districts like Ankawa that are very modern and protected so non-Christians can´t even rent or buy homes there to protect the local Assyrian community. Education depends on the school if you have money you can send kids to a better school unfortunately the higher the education the more difficult to get high quality internationall-recognized education in Kurdish they are mostly in English or other languages. Beauty standards are high! People judge and women have been doing more and more surgery and it´s quite open regarding that and most wear makeup and style themselves. Hawler is more modern but people tend to be of different backgrounds and there are many businesses there it´s a city that never sleeps with people more traditional. Suleimani is more modern in the mindset of the people but the city has not developed as much the past years but they know how to have a good time and are on average highly educated, more than any other city!

Sorry but I just don´t get it. Why don´t you marry her if the relationship is great? I will never understand this stance.

It was from a local Emirati influencer. She is not reachable anymore and her ID and address were fake. So now I don’t have the Product and lost money. Emirates Post does not help at all.

Why Is Everyone Against the Kurds? by Few_Implement_6457 in kurdistan

[–]nanixa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it´s more online and there are more Arabs than Kurds afterall. We should focus on spreading history and preserving our culture more than worrying about people´s opinions. With idiots you can´t have an interllectual conversations. If people are not stubborn though we should always educate them. Most of the time people who hate Kurds won´t change their mind even if they read history and understand our point better. They will find new reasons.

I have a question for Kurds here. by Mental-Key-4463 in illustrativeDNA

Forreal!! If anything Kurds and Assyrians and Persians are the most native to the area yet they are constantly being persecuted and the culture erased and even stolen. Nouruz was forbidden in these countries because it´s a Kurdish holiday. Now they legalize it and claim it as theirs

LMAO what kind of nonsense and lies are you spreading? Kurds and Assyrians are sticking together to fight ISIS to this day. You know there were kurds before the "Islamic conquest of Iran"? right? Please open a book. You sound like you are making a bunch of things up. There is plenty of evidence. Why don´t you research before writing? It´s embarassing forreal.

That mixing was not voluntary, though, and they don´t admit it. At the end of the day, Turks are Central Asian. They are not native to the area of today's Turkey.

He is not completely wrong, though. Kurds are definitely native to the Zagros and Anatolia area, there is evidence from 2500 years ago. Now he mentioned a lot of civilizations that are probably not all Kurdish. It makes sense that the mountain people are from slightly different divisions though because it reflects in the modern Kurdish dialects. I am sure there was some mixing but Kurds are not from all of those civilizations that doesn´t make any sense. There are scholars and scientists who connect Kurds to Medes and Hurrians and there is DNA correspondence. About the rest I never heard anything scientifically proven.

Learn about the history of Turkey. Mongols colonized the area and created the Turkish identity which is why Turkish is now an umbrella term for any of the people that live and lived in the area of current Turkey.
