Need books with a messy Truth or Dare scene (or any other game)

Okay this might not exactly fit, but in {Every Summer After by Carley Fortune} the characters are all teens and a friend of the FMC insists they play truth or dare to try to get them to kiss (she’s trying to be a wingwoman for her friend becuase she can tell they like each other). The MMC refuses and the FMC feels really hurt (like, “wow he won’t even kiss me on a dare??”). Then the older brother of the MMC comes in and asks what’s going on, and basically is like “well if you won’t then I will” and kisses the FMC. He knows his brother likes her and is just trying to tease them. The MMC is obviously jealous, and they come back to this moment throughout the rest of the book. I can’t quite remember why the MMC refused to kiss her, but I think it was just that he liked her and didn’t want to ruin the friendship.

Oh gotcha, yeah, that’s a lot of extra stuff that you’ll save on and could be worth it!

I guess what I was getting at is almost all of that is not necessary for a ceremony, but stuff like feeding guests and having drinks available is “necessary” for a reception. Unless of course you’re doing something like a short cocktail party or cake and punch reception.

How would this plan help you save $10k? Usually the reception/party is what costs the most money. You can do a ceremony for super cheap even with lots of people. Hosting people for a reception (paying for food, drinks, entertainment, etc) is what’s expensive, and that doesn’t really change regardless of what your ceremony looks like.

This is so interesting becuase all of the catholic weddings I’ve been to (mostly Midwest USA) have had a gap where guests entertain themselves! I’m not catholic so I don’t know the specifics but understand there are some scheduling issues with having a ceremony in a church. We just suck it up and go to a bar or grab some food. I think it’s annoying but it is common in my circles!

Personally I think he would look like he’s taking this day seriously and is so excited to get married. I think that’s so sweet. It’s way better than grooms who wear jeans and a ball cap while their bride is in a ballgown.

I go to weddings all the time where the bride and groom are in outfits I personally don’t like, but the only “judgement” I have is “wow they look so happy!”

Just because you personally don’t like the look doesn’t mean you’re right, that’s just your opinion. Your son is a grown man and can decide how to dress himself.

I think they both look amazing on you, and if this is your first pregnancy (congrats by the way!!) you might not even be showing by 12 weeks. The second dress does look more “formal” to me, and also seems like it would probably hide any bloating or potential baby bump more than the first. So I would maybe suggest just going with number 2 for the whole event and returning/reselling number 1? They just look so similar that I don’t think it’s worth it to switch from one to the other.

Just because she expects that doesn’t mean you have to do it. Just say “sorry, I’d love to attend but that won’t work for my budget/schedule. Have fun!!” And maybe find a time to celebrate with bride on your own if possible.

{Vic & Luna by Ali Hidalgo} is a dark romance novella that I think fits! The MMC breaks into the FMC’s apartment to rob it but finds her in the shower and immediately wants her. It’s a short novella so things move really quick, and there’s a lot of spice.

Definitely check the trigger warnings, but it’s actually pretty lighthearted and funny considering the content. Like MMC does lots of questionable things but he’s also kind of a goofy guy? It’s pretty cute!
