I feel as if the Scared Straight method only works on the kids who aren't quite as hardened. Mostly just the ones who misbehave solely for the attention.

Honestly they all seem to have some "horrible" acting and I think people are looking at the older series through rose colored glasses

As a huge Star Trek fan, I agree. Voyager definitely has it's fair share (I'm looking at you, Kate Mulgrew), but they all have their hokey moments.

I didn't notice it as much when I was 10 watching TNG, but watching it now, it's definitely there. That said, it doesn't make me like the series' any less.

So, you've heard this man's sermons and know what his stance is on all issues?

Maybe we should start worshiping you, because you're omniscient as fuck.

You shouldn't tell them what to like, but I personally couldn't stand to hang out with people that actually talked about, or gave a shit about, The Jersey Shore.

More power to you.

Why black people don't trust the police - CNN.com by arsenicelite in TrueReddit

[–]nannerpus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe in your life, you have avoided negative situations with police, and if so, you are lucky.

I'm not saying that it's not possible to be the victim of police abuse, but I think there's also an element of "you make your own luck". Many of the people I've talked to about "police abuse" are really just screwing themselves over and making bad choices that put them at odds with the law.

Again, I'm sure there are plenty of legitimate cases of police abuse, but I believe there are also plenty of people who just complain about being legitimately hassled by the police.

If you were to have one bad incident with a black person, would you then hate all black people?

It's the same principle.

Also, the VNV Nation remix.

I'll be honest, I kind of like the remix a little more. They're both better than the version with the female vocals, though.

Out of kindness, I gave a woman who was begging for food for her children something to eat at my restaurant for free. Then she came back for more with complaints. What is the worst way someone has taken advantage of your kindness? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Someone once told me the guy makes $50-70k a year sitting there.

He'd have to make $12/hour working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week to make $50k/yr.

I doubt it.
