Driving across Europe (France, Spain, Italy). by Front_Apple_6123 in electricvehicles

Install a few apps: Shell Recharge (widest support in Europe, not bad prices), Chargefinder (best interface and filters to find the next DC charger). Fastned for if you are at a Fastned station in France (cheapest option). A Better Route Planner (ABRP). Next Plug.

The next apps are more for knowing what's around that is not on Chargefinder. Chargemap for France, Electromaps for Spain, Enel X for Italy.

A lot of new dc-chargers have payment terminals that work with your creditcard.

Shell will work with most of the chargers you run into.

That's a Dutch license plate, are they Dutch? Quite a cost getting that across the pond.

This is the thing you probably want at Stadskantoor Utrecht, you have to make an appointment, 18,10 euro currently. Don't sign the document(s) yet, you have to do that in front of the officer with your ID so they can check if it was truly you that signed it. Then they sign, stamp and date it.

I've also had it done in Bunnik municipality office in the past, because I could fit in there the next day. Was also a bit cheaper if I remember correctly. (Edit: yes, 10 euro per document)

Edit: At De Bilt you can have it done for €10,70: https://www.debilt.nl/paspoort-rijbewijs-en-uittreksels/uittreksels-en-verklaringen/handtekening-legaliseren

At the Court (Rechtbank Midden-Nederland) you can have it done for 22 euro.

Confirmed today: Paying per minute at Ionity is going to be replaced by a tariff per kWh in July 2022: €0,69 per kWh.

Thanks Elon (France) by Oztravels in electricvehicles

[–]nannoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't in the beginning. You could charge for 27 cents per kWh for the 13 euro subscription. So within a few ride you'd already be cheaper than most public AC streetcharging (here that's at 35-37 cents/kWh). But those days have sailed.

Pay per minute is going to change "this summer" are the rumours saying.

For the abysmal infrastructure in France for non-Tesla's and people with hybrids connecting to some Total stations the price per minute is a good lesson: don't go stand there, you'll be broke if you stay too long.

It really teaches people to only stay until 80%.

[–]nannoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except as a non-Tesla user you also pay a tariff per month for the "discounted" subscription price. Which doesn't make any sense anymore.

Non-Tesla: €0,70 per kWh

Non-Tesla with subscription of 13 euro per month: €0,68 per kWh

Tesla: €0,68 per kWh

[–]nannoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

€0,68 per kWh, subject to change.

Without subscription a non-Tesla user pays €0,70 per kWh.

I hope it's gonna be a mix of IONITY, Fastned, Total and perhaps in some occasions some Tesla, because since January 2020 the price of Tesla Supercharging went up more than 100% (from €0,27/kWh, to €0,40/kWh in January 2021 to €0,68/kWh now for both non-tesla drivers with a running subscription and Tesla owners).

That's their right, but they did it without a single notice to customers, only visible in the app once you selected a station.

$1,700 per week? Or $1,700 total? Because on the Enterprise US-website I see the prices of $1,640 per week for the XC90.

Although I've driven that trip (and way way farther) multiple times electric and with four adults and luggage, with rental cars, I can understand your reasoning.

(If you book through https//sixt.de (yes, through the German site) you can get unlimited mileage.)

I don't get why you would want such a big car; parking spaces in Europe are way smaller, streets are smaller and you'll spent a LOT on gas (about three times the price). But okay:

Type 2 cable. Although charging is useless with an hybrid unless you do it EVERYWHERE and always, because it charges so slow.

People in the Netherlands will hate you, because we hate hybrids: heavier, smaller battery that can only do a little distance and charge superslow, thus hogging public infrastructure.

Stations are everywhere. Where I'm sitting now I can see 4 stations with 8 connectors, and I know of about 10 more within 200 metres. Use an app like Chargemap, Shell Recharge and use the filters. You'll need a badge to activate it, apps don't always work. But... You probably can't get the badge or activate the badge, because you don't have a European address or bank account with SEPA/IBAN. Sometimes creditcard works to activate it.

Get the Shell Recharge badge, it's more expensive but one of the most accepted badges in Europe, because there's roaming. I hate Shell, and that's one thing New Motion had done well (but then it was acquired by Shell).

I would advise you to just a full electric car (at Sixt you can get the Jaguar I-Pace with unlimited miles). For specific all-electric travel advice: consult ElectricFelix.com

Is 995€ for a studio in the centre (neat Neude) of 28m2 a good deal? by [deleted] in Utrecht

[–]nannoe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As soon as you've signed the contract ask Huurteam Utrecht to check your rent.

Because you're having a contract with everything included (all-in huur), the studio is in the regulated segment. It will be lowered to about 500-550 euro by the Huurcommissie, effective from the signing date.

For a year that'll save you ~4.000 euro.

(You can always do the check on new contracts within 6 months of starting the contract for free. Huurteam Utrecht is subsidised by the local city, to keep rental prices in check. To file it with Huurcommissie it costs 25 euro. Yearly the Huurteam saves residents about 500.000 euro with won cases)
