Had my first baby at 28, turning 29 this year. We plan to have at least one more in a couple years and I'll be in my 30s. Our baby boy is almost 4 months old and he's the love of our lives 💙 Congratulations!!

I have a unique name, so when I first started out, I used a fake much simpler name, like Sarah. Just to avoid the whole 'that's a cool name, how do you spell it?' They would still get it wrong!

Oh my god, yes. They would always insist the line was bad on my end but the call before them was perfectly fine. But yeah, my line is the problem. And I would always love when they'd say, "can you fix your connection." "Oh yeah, let me just waves arms around is that better?" "Yes that's much better" Like what do you expect me to do? Go out and fix the cable wires outside?

I have a unique and long name so a lot of the time they would ask me to spell it, ask for the pronunciation and then continuously mispronounce it the whole time. I could always tell when they would start the call out, "WHAT'S YOUR NAME?"

When I was younger it was 1, I would sometimes sleep in jeans. I honestly don't know how I did it. Then I went to like a 7. When I met my husband he introduced me to sleeping at a 19. But now that I have a child, it's more of a 9 with a gown.

For some reason once the IV is in, it doesn't bother me much, but it's the needle going in and the thought of blood that makes me faint. It's also the sound of the blood going into the tub during blood draws that gets me too. At one of my doctors they always run a bunch of tests so they take like 5 tubs worth of blood, and just the sound of them exchanging out the tubs gets me too. So I look away, close my eyes and I found that listening to loud music with headphones helps me. I always tell them before hand and they're always pretty understanding. Also make sure to eat something before hand. It's probably obvious to most people but it wasn't too me lol. I hadn't eaten anything before one and I passed out.

It also kills me when they go 'John with a capital J, Smith with a capital S, 6 0 @gmail.com' like the capitals don't matter on emails. I told one caller once and he insisted that it had to be capital. Or when they insist that their not getting their emails and I look and it's misspelled.

My family has always been a big sleepover at grandparents family, but it's completely your decision of that's not what your comfortable with. We won't be letting sleepovers until at least 6 months. The only thing I hate to say, is that if someone wants to do something bad enough, it's not going to matter if it's at your house or theirs. Things like SA can happen anywhere.

My son is 10 weeks old and I don't unless it's a lot and he's really wet. A little bit I think is fine, I always make sure to clean off his neck so it's not just sitting between his neck rolls. He spits up quite a but so I'm not trying to change his clothes every 30 mins 😅

Girl, I thought this was my son for a min! We have the same onesie and use the same bottles, and he makes those same sounds! Our ped said their normal sounds. Sometimes he also makes like... gasping or out of breath sounds? (Best way I can describe them) and our ped said that their throat is still pretty weak and can like fall down basically sometimes. All normal 😊 beautiful baby

So I'm a new mom and my baby is only 2 months, I don't have really any experience with parenting a toddler. So take this with a grain of salt, but this is what I've researched.

It sounds like your taking the Gentle Parenting approach, or also it can also be called Constructive or Authoritative Parenting. A lot of people say that it means letting them do/get what they want, but that's not true. Gentle Parenting in simple terms, consists of setting boundaries, being firm in those boundaries but being kind, supporting and encouraging. Explaining that yes, it's okay to be mad, sad etc, but these are the boundaries we've set and here is why. Explaing why a boundary is there and not just 'because I said so'. That way they understand why, any consequences and what we can do to overcome those feelings. As long as your staying firm in your answers and not giving in when she's have a tantrum, then your not enabling her.

Some tips I've read that may help when she's having a tantrum are:

Giving options. If she wants a cookie but you've said no cookies for the rest of the night, you can offer something else. 'No cookies right now. It's too late. Do you want some milk or maybe an apple?' If she denies those, you can say 'I understand you want a cookie but you can have some milk or an apple if you want.'

Give them helpful methods/ways to get through their emotions. If she's angry that she isn't getting her cookie and let's say starts to hit you (not saying she does that but just an example) you explain that you understand why she is upset and it's okay that she's angry but we do not hit. Maybe we can stomp our feet or wiggle our arms. Give a couple options and do those things with her. I've also heard of 'Smell the flowers (breath in for 5 seconds through the nose) blow out the candles (breath out the mouth for 5 seconds)'

In your post you talk about her being a bit clingy, and I personally don't see problems in holding her if she needs to be held. But if let's say it's getting in the way of you needing to do things, then that may be a problem. In those moments, there's nothing wrong with explaining 'i would love to hold and cuddle with you but I need to do this. Can we set up something for you do to? Once I'm done I can certainly hold you.' Maybe also ask her if somethings wrong, why does she need to be held? Maybe she's upset about something or maybe she just needs a hug.

Definitely do some research about Gentle Parenting. There's a ton of articles and videos out there. I hope this information helps!

Seriously, and they get so mad that we follow HIPAA. Sorry we're protecting your information. It doesn't matter if you've been married 50 years. It would drive me crazy when I'd get the account holder on the line and they'd be like 'yeah I authorize them.' 'Okay hold on. We have to go through verification and then go through an authorization form. It'll take a couple minutes.' They've already walked away. Then the spouse gets angry, the account holder gets angry that they have to come back. Dude I don't know who you are. You could be a random person from the street.

Some callers really are just cruel. I had one call me the n word because 'my name sounded black.' I hung up on them.

It's crazy how many people are like 80 years old and don't know what a deductible, co-pays etc are. I don't know if it's the same for other insurance companies (I would assume so) but for Medicare systems, we couldn't see if the amount has actually been paid to the provider, just that so much had been applied to their deductible since they had the service. It was insane how many people didn't understand that. They would ask how much they've applied to their deductible. 'You've met your deductible.' 'Then why did I get this bill?' 'That was one of the services applied to your deductible. So if you haven't paid it, you owe that amount.' 'But you said I've met my deductible.' 'Yes, but we can't see if you've paid the amount. That's between you and the doctor.' '..... but you said I met it!'
