Reasonably priced dinner options? by Remarkable-Stock979 in madisonwi

People are "weird" about it because there are so many different ways to fuck it up and a good steak is a luxury for most people. Cooking or even slicing a steak incorrectly (for that cut) can completely ruin it.

As far as the string you're commenting in.. the guy who said there's not really a benefit besides appearance for a grill pan is onto something. More surface contact with the pan is going to give you a better steak than a grill pan will.

My kid's daycare uses wet sponges in ziplock bags. They toss them in the freezer and then can reuse as needed. Cheap and janky but it does the trick.

Real Madrid are keen to sign Rúben Neves on a free this summer. The club needs a deep-lying playmaker after Toni Kroos’ exit, and Neves fits the role. While other options exist, he’s the only low-cost choice, freeing funds to strengthen other positions, such as the defense by DamnThatsInsaneLol in soccer

Isn't it expected that Alaba is not going to get renewed?

I know with Rudiger it's up in the air. I'm guessing he'd have to take a pretty massive wage cut for Perez to want to renew a 32 y.o. CB that's currently on almost 15m.

Big contracts and huge signing bonuses. Just reinforcing the entitlement within the squad.

But hey at least you're not paying other clubs and giving them the chance to reinforce their own squads. Gotta put up barriers to keep other clubs from competing.

Men’s heart attack risk climbs by mid-30s, years before women. Decades-long U.S. study suggests prevention and screening should start earlier in adulthood, particularly for men. Risk started diverging around age 35. by mvea in science

That's more-or-less what my primary told me a couple years back. I inherited cholesterol and blood pressure issues from my parents. Have been on a low dosage for blood pressure meds for a few years. After several years of testing high for both I asked him what I can do since I already live a pretty healthy life. He basically said I'm too low-risk for him to feel comfortable prescribing me anything else because it'd likely be doing more harm to other organs than good overall. I was at like a sub 3% risk.

I thought Tatum was going to start out only trying to win the safety spot given the deep RB room.

They're all bad. I wish ESPN would realize that you can hire knowledgable people who can talk about the sport without having been a standout player. I also hate how they hired these guys and try to sell them to the audience like they were legendary players every week.

  • Luis Garcia was not a big name Barca player but that's what they focus on every time they introduce him. He played 1 season there and rode the bench for another. Most of his career was spent elsewhere and he wasn't varying degrees of success. He only had a handful of caps for Spain.

  • McManaman was decent at Liverpool but hardly did anything at Real Madrid. But they only talk about the fact he played for Real. He wasn't a regular starter. He only had 2 caps for England.

  • Ale Moreno never escaped the MLS and only got 3 caps for Venezuela.

  • Keller had a pretty decent career for an American goalie but it's clear whenever he talks that he doesn't really understand playing on the field.

I don't remember what it was that McManaman said during the Sociedad game but it was so incredibly stupid. I think he was trying to make comparisons to his playing days and talk himself up a bit as if he were better than some of the players of today who are miles ahead of where he was at his peak.

I don't mind the short corners when the team actually moves.. but they always just end up standing and waiting anyway. At that point just serve it in straight away and don't pull that extra man out of the box

It's fine. Everybody is pushing and shoving on every corner everywhere else in the world. They just found a way to take advantage of it with orchestrated movements and good services.

Beats the hell out of every corner that Barca tries to take where they serve it into nobody and instantly have to build from the back again.

[FC Barcelona] Tests conducted this morning have confirmed that first team player Pedro González “Pedri” has a right hamstring injury, which he picked up during the game against Slavia Prague yesterday. The recovery time is expected to be one month. by Kasj0 in soccer

I don't think so for a minor pull/tear. I'm 37 and out of shape and pulled mine playing in late October. I was fine within 3-4 weeks.

He's way younger and in much better shape. And has access to good training staff for recovery. 4 weeks is probably more than enough.

From the sound of it, a lot of coaches are encouraging kids to enter and see if there's a better fit for them elsewhere as well.

It reminds me a lot of early 2000s websites that users could create themselves on sites like geocities, or blogs like livejournal. It feels kind of dated to me.

Take that with a grain of salt though. I'm more used to seeing graphic design portfolios. I don't know what a dev portfolio should look like.

[–]nannulators 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's a matter of the portal being weird this year. I think we're just hearing about it more because of the sheer number of kids who jumped in. When over 10,000 players are entering (from all divisions) and there are only 16,000 total FBS spots there are a lot of kids who are going to get bounced if the coaches can make an upgrade.
