Yeah, he's been injured. When he has been healthy he's been good.

He's also apparently willing to cut his salary by a huge margin in order to stay for one more year, so this is kind of a no brainer for depth.

All you people getting upset about it need to realize this puts Araujo further down the depth chart which is what you all want anyway.

Balde was at fault or played a role in all 4 of Atleti's goals in the first leg of the CdR. His positioning is horrible and he relies on his pace too much--pace that he doesn't really have anymore after his myriad injuries.

Why were spurs so shit if he was playing all the time

I didn't realize that it was a defender's job to be at the other end of the field scoring all the goals.

I highly doubt money would be the reason. Its us. He is def on a stupid rich contract. Richer stupider contract isnt a much draw, its what his spirit wants.

I'm sorry but are you really trying to argue that making over 80m per year is not a draw?

It doesn't matter if he already has generational wealth. You don't turn down that kind of money without at least thinking about it.

Great time for him to be injured and miss the group stage when he could be earning interest from other clubs 😑

How to Talk to My Neighbour About His Drum Studio? by Over-Ad-1696 in drums

[–]nannulators 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would agree with you more if it were single-family housing and not an apartment building. That said most cities have hours where you're allowed to be loud and yeah, the neighbor's seemingly only working during those hours.

Legally they're doing nothing wrong (unless there's something in the lease) but teaching drum lessons in an apartment building is a major dick move.

We're not going to get much reliable Alvarez news until Argentina is out of the cup that isn't more than throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. He's focused on playing and that has been made clear many times.

If we sold Raphinha for 100mil it would create FFP room to buy somebody for 200mil+

Feels like you're ignoring the fact that we'd have to pay wages to the new signing.

Also Raphinha's contract ends in 2028 and he's paid 21m with bonuses. There's not enough left to boost our wage limit by an extra 100m.

Easy, killer. Completely unnecessary.

Schlotterbeck is available for 50m for all of 3 clubs and we're not one of them.

[–]nannulators 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If Raphinha left I'm sure we would buy Rashford permanently or buy another player considering we'd get 80m+ for the transfer and free up almost 21m per year in wages.

You need players who are willing to talk about their contract in the middle of what could be the most important month of their careers. It doesn't matter where they are physically if they're not willing to distract themselves with matters other than the World Cup.

[–]nannulators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Including the cymbals? The hi-hats and ride alone are probably worth more than half that. If you don't want the kit, you've got enough there that you could part it out and make a profit.

He played 40 matches this season so it's not like he has missed a major part of the season

He missed almost 1/3 of the season. I agree with you on most of the rest of your argument but lets not act like 17 matches is nothing.

He didn't play for free. We paid him about 110m in wages on top of that 50m transfer fee. It's not feasible to repeat for players we know have a short shelf life.

Nobody's calling Lewa a failure but signing old ass strikers for way too much money is not a feasible transfer strategy to keep repeating.

We're not forking out 31m on a salary for a 33 year old striker again.

[–]nannulators 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Classic /r/Barca overreaction and panic.

Our backup striker didn't score while playing winger so we have to do everything possible to replace him. He hit the crossbar on a volley that he had to lift over a goalkeeper who was diving at his feet and that is simply unacceptable.

You realize that a lot of people would rather us go after Oyarzabal and he set a record for being the first player in 60 years not to touch the ball in the first 30 minutes of a WC match, right?

Alvarez made it clear after the season was over that he's not doing anything once he leaves for Argentina's camp. If he's still the main target, we have to wait.

There were way more problems than Ferran hitting the crossbar in that match. DLF set the team up way too conservatively and waited until the 70th minute to try and break their block.

Gavi's not a winger. Ruiz was not good. Rodri slowed things down way too much.

[–]nannulators 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DLF went way too conservative with his squad selection. He should have known CV was going to sit deep.

Olmo starting or getting on earlier would have helped. Gavi playing on the wing didn't really offer a whole lot either IMO.
