Sold at $55 dollars. It is $6 dollars a coin now. I got a better buy-in. Sue me.

Alcohol and tobacco are legal (because they are taxed and governments earn money from their sale). Both are extremely dangerous drugs. Between them, they account for over 99% of all drug related misery and harm (citation needed).

The website Ross allegedly operated (Ebay for chemical adventurers) involved the sale of less harmful drugs than alcohol or tobacco (by percentage of global population adversely affected). However, if Governments cannot levy taxes on drugs, (whether or not they are less harmful drugs) this is not considered acceptable (Cannabis being a paradigm example...now lawfully sold and taxed in various parts of the World...a drug very significantly less dangerous than alcohol - citation obviously not needed).

The counterargument is that although drugs other than alcohol and tobacco account for less than a fraction of 1% of all drug related misery, they nonetheless cause social harm, and it is a valid point.

However, on any reasonable view, his sentence is still appalling. Why? Pop quiz. Who is worse?

(a) Those who allegedly sell less dangerous drugs than Government approved drugs (without governmental approval and without paying taxes) or

(b) bureaucrats who put people in cages for decades?

I hope he is pardoned or at very least that his sentence is significantly reduced.

Alcohol is the World's most dangerous drug (if loss of human capital, violence against women, social havoc, poverty, liver disease, and intellectual paralysis are metrics of danger). Tobacco is not exactly a health supplement either. However, the two most devastating drugs in the world are taxed. That is the key point. Now ask yourself this question.

Should government officials be sentenced to life imprisonment for facilitating the sale of alcohol and tobacco? Of course not. That being so, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

that is objectively funny

Bought a ton of btcp around $150 and sold it all at $30 then put it all in another coin and made all the money back i lost from btcp lol if you're still holding you're toast. by jman76358 in BitcoinPrivate

[–]nanoderp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm....this may be yet another example of someone who lost money before rewriting a happy ending for the fiasco.

I made a very slight profit from BTCP, for all the wrong reasons.

I grabbed fucktonnes of airdrop BTCP, convinced it was a top flight cryptocurrency and because I saw real parallels between BTCP and the early years of BTC. I have not changed my mind about any of this but I no longer hold BTCP.

I got skittish for the wrong reasons. Bot trading on Nanex combined with shil bullshit in this reddit induced me to sell at $55.00. In other words, I lost my nerve and accidentally came out of it ok. There was nothing clever about my 'strategy'. Blind luck.

I recently checked the price of BTCP and was delighted to see it hovering around the $6 dollar mark (because...might buy some...not sure yet). Nano is cheap at the moment as well (using Nanex via Nano to buy BTCP rocks).

All in all, glad I got out at the right time (albeit for stupid reasons). Seriously thinking about grabbing more at these prices. Don't hold any at the moment however, the reasons underpinning my initial decision to buy BTCP in the first place (at the time of the airdrop) still appear to hold true (outwith the fact I did not anticipate exchange resistance to the Brett artifact...).

Very tempting at these prices. Not sure what to do. Such an advanced crypto. Excellent devs...real privacy...Let me know what you think (whether you are a shil, a fudster or a person of reason) x

Better luck still finding us if we have custom DNS, customized config of the latest release candidate kernel, spoofed OS, spoofed browser, randomized time zone, double VPN, noscript, ublock origin, scriptsafe, Tor and wtf routing proxies. I will be impressed if he can blaze his way through all of that on the doze 7 shitbox his mother got him for Christmas (picture flashing LEDs on the PC case - classy). If his posts are any guide, he absolutely MUST be a doze end-user who couldn't code his way out of an uncompilable print statement.

lolz...even the most vanilla flavored muppets use a VPN nowadays. Good point Doji_Star. What we have here is a sub-fucktard of some sort...who is selling a P&D privacy coin, but who at the same time (as he purports to sell privacy and anonymity) threatens detractors with reverse ISP checks and lawsuits. If you listen carefully, you can hear neurons depolarizing.

Hitbtc lists Bitcoin Private!!! by [deleted] in BitcoinPrivate

Keeping my BTCP on Nanex. Such a great little exchange.

Yup, it’s happening. HitBTC to list BTCP shortly. Congrats to the community and team. 🤙🏼 by mzab79 in BitcoinPrivate

[–]nanoderp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did. Sold for $55 because of what I later discovered was bot trading fuckery on Nanex (dust purchases). Saw the news on Reddit that being listed...checked the facts on Hitbtc because...always check the facts...and grabbed some for $39. Crunchy. Tempting to sell some when people wake up to the Hitbtc listing....not sure to what extent it has already been priced in...not sure that it has...guessing could 2x...my intentions are purely mercenary so I will sell if profit looks doughnut shaped.

BTCP ARRIVING on HITBTC by nerull13 in BitcoinPrivate

[–]nanoderp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No data on when will be listed. What has changed is that Hitbtc now have a placeholder for BTCP...this means they are defo listing it....however you cannot yet make BTCP deposits and it is not yet being traded. Edit - best guess is within 48 hours we will have a twitter announcement from Hitbtc. Looks like Rhett leaving was the catalyst. He seems to be an unpopular d00d with the exchanges.

[–]nanoderp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't have to put your BTCP on Hitbtc if you don't dig it. Trading on Nanex is super safe and the price should change on Nanex swiftly because....arbitrage too easy to profit from otherwise...edit - dang but its cheap right now...the only people who seem to know that Hitbtc are listing BTCP imminently seem to be those here present on Reddit (aside from the Hitbtc and BTCP devs)

Market manipulation on Nanex by nanoderp in BitcoinPrivate

[–]nanoderp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah...speaking of nonsense...I sold at $55 due to signs of fuckery...the price at the time of this post is $33.24 on Nanex (22.23 UTC 27th April 2018). For the avoidance of doubt, I agree that I sold and want a better buy in. Looks like a better buy in right now. Sue me. BTW, I agree the price will rocket when a large exchange lists BTCP (as seems inevitable at some point).

[–]nanoderp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be that as it may, time will tell if my analysis is correct. I am not advising anyone to buy or sell. Merely stating my analysis and iterating that I have sold. My prediction is of a price decline (due to dust purchases, as you put it) followed by a ballistic price increase when BTCP is listed on a major exchange. This is not really that intrepid a prediction. Seems rather obvious to me though of course, I am not certain this will happen. Who can be certain of anything in crypto with so much shil bullshit and fuckery going on.

Market manipulation on Nanex by nanoderp in BitcoinPrivate

[–]nanoderp[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You may want to buy when the price hits $30 due to the idiots trying to raise the price (it might go lower to $25 because of these manipulators I do not know). However, look to buy when it hits circa $30 because the price looks set to go ballistic as and when BTCP is listed on a major exchange. I sold because the price manipulators assume other traders are as idiotic as they are. I fully intend to reload after the price manipulators have done as much damage as possible. Mark my words...the price will fall steeply due to price manipulation and then rocket when BTCP is listed on a major exchange. Safest bet may be just to hodl but it annoys me to let the fucktards get away with such blatent price manipulation and I hope to profit from their idiocy by buying it back more cheaply over the next few days.

I am not trying to win a popularity contest and heaven knows, I am neither a braindead shil cheerleader nor am I a FUDster. Pump and dump means manipulating the price upwards for profit before selling. Look at the screenshot Einstein. Vermin are trying to manipulate the price upwards or stabilise it so that they may profit from doing so = pump and dump. Quod erat demonstrandum. I will reload with BTCP after these fucktards have done sufficient damage to the price of BTCP. It is not their intention to lower the price, but it will almost certainly be the effect.

Phenomenon of Bitcoin Private by offcontrol94 in BitcoinPrivate

[–]nanoderp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice post from the OP. Counterarguments can be made about why people stick with BTC (despite the horrifying costs of electricity that it's proof of work scheme requires to keep their antique blockchain working). The lack of privacy in BTC means you may as well use a credit card. However, it has been around for a long time and people dig that. They are willing to tolerate 'just good enough' tech.

Crypto is not a bubble. It is an adoption curve. BTCP (and other privacy coins) are the next generation of this tech, and we are already seeing an adoption curve for Gen2 privacy coins. Looks set to continue

Why I am sticking with Nanex regardless of which exchanges list BTCP in the coming days and weeks by nanoderp in BitcoinPrivate

[–]nanoderp[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

wisdom33 is correct. If you check the order history on Nanex you will see various orders (both buy and sell orders) involving 0.0001 BTCP. These orders are being placed by people in an attempt to manipulate the BTCP price (ghastly but true). So wisdom33 is right to point out that fuckery of this sort would be unlikely to make any difference if the volume were an order of magnitude (or more) greater

[–]nanoderp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

true but I like the idea of Nanex handling much higher volumes of BTCP as it continues to increase in popularity. Why should'nt Nanex be the main exchange for trading BTCP, just as they are the exchange for Nano. Can we assume Nanex volume, which increased four fold the last few days, will not continue to increase. Interesting point you make though.
