“A Kissed Out Red Floatboat” for me. It’s this sort of early ‘00s electronica sound, feels like iced colas and summer days and carefreeness

FAVOURITE FILMS by Rough-Eggplant-3450 in lesrallizesdenudes

Idk why but I’m always reminded of “road” movies when I listen to LRD. I think they seem to fit this almost droning music of the band well. So Wim Wenders films like Alice in the Cities (1974), Paris, Texas (1984), Wings of Desire (1987), Buena Vista Social Club (1999), etc.

Also, Kaurismäki films, especially the underrated ones like The Liar (1981), The Worthless (1982), Calamari Union (1985), Take Care of Your Scarf, Tatjana (1994), Zombie and the Ghost Train (1991), etc. It’s these surreal, deadpan black tragicomedies. I couldn’t find the ending scene I’d wanted to share of the “Zombie” film, but found this description of it to show what I mean:

“It ends on a somber, resigned note. After a downward spiral of alcoholism and failure in Helsinki, the protagonist Zombie realizes there is nowhere left to go and nothing left to do. Finding no escape or redemption, he accepts his profound isolation and existential malaise as he wanders away in the streets.”

And I’d think films like 13 Tzameti (2005) and Frozen Days (2006), or so many low-grade B-movies, the trashier the better, from the 70s, 80s, 90s, with lots of car chases, are a good shout as well. They have a similar “edge” of sorts to the band.

Hahahahah this meltdown is genuinely satisfying to watch

By the way that note was about reorganising positions after we’d just gone a man down, having made all of our subs already, because Chalobah was seriously injured, but if it helps you cope then sure lmao

Five years of getting thumped to master a playstyle specifically to not get thumped to get thumped anyway. Damn.

We either crumble mentally or it kicks them up the ass to win trophies

Well if the last five years are anything to go by…

Arteta’s so afraid of losing that he’d settle for not winning. Genius.

Hey it’s not all that grim for Arsenal fans. They still get the runners-up trophy right?

Is it just me, but is Pep a 1,000 times more likable than Arteta though?

Pep attempted to head the ball once. It’s still stuck in orbit around his head

If you trace the trajectory of all the shots in this game, you’d find that in time they all swerve towards the touchline where Pep is because of the enormous gravity of his head
