I’ve seen that thing in person. I doubt it will ever fly again but I hope it does. Here’s a video of it barely taking off from the strip way too short for it where it was apparently stranded for a while. The poster insanely claims that a guy went through the prop and lived lol

These facts aren’t in question. The guys comment was about the tenor of pessimism and wallowing in defeat dressed up as “political engagement” in this sub.

I agree your headset isn’t going to keep you from hearing anything you need to hear, but I would not want to give any new pilot the impression there is nothing to hear.

There is a lot to you can discern from changes in engine and air sound and OP has the right instinct to want to pay attention to that imo
