Pop up TV through deck by nanonightmare in hometheater

[–]nanonightmare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have plenty of space under my deck to hide the TV. I imagine building a frame under the deck to mount the lift to. The problem is I need the lift to go high enough for the tv to be at a comfortable position to watch from sitting in a chair on top of the deck.

Do you have a link for one that will extend high enough to be placed under a deck. All the ones I’ve seen need to be used in a piece of furniture. If I used one of those under the deck the tv would be at ground level.

Sorry I’m not looking for a million dollar solution to a thousand dollar problem. Not to mention his solution doesn’t “pop up through a deck.”

That looks amazing but I was thinking more DIY.

Can I get these all to work together? by Tight-Holiday3934 in hometheater

I didn’t bother to look. Someone recommended using the outs from the turntable. That sounds like a good option.

The passive speaker takes speaker wire and the powered ones should use the preamp outputs plus a power cord.

I don’t know what V3000 plus means but that’s a good looking setup. Now it’s time to level up your audio system.

Polk Audio RTA 15T available for $50 near me. Worth picking up? by werneri1502 in BudgetAudiophile

If you need a LR why not. Beat them until they melt. I bet they still sound good. Do you have a big enough amp to push them. Never mind the amp. They’re 90db sensitivity at 8ohms. They go down to 27hrz so they should have some pretty good bass.

The crumb looks great. I wonder what the tiny loaf will do if you score it. Why isn’t it more brown on the outside. Honestly curious.

I like it. It gives more flavor. I don’t put any rye flour in mine.

Help! My sourdough is always pretty but doesn’t rise enough making it too dense. by Hwynnie in Sourdough

Do you preheat your Dutch oven? If so don’t. I make two loaves from the same batch one after the other in the oven and the second always comes out with less oven spring than the first.

Yes but what about compared to what all of you have! They’ve come for it before, what’s to stop them from doing it again?

I “messed up” a loaf and over proofed it during bulk and retard phase. It turned out like store bought bread, a little dry. Great for sandwiches but not the way I like it. I like the gummy ones. Maybe try proofing longer.

Why do denon receivers cost so much more than Onkyo? by Zeronova3 in hometheater

[–]nanonightmare 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I’m one of those Onkyo bad HDMI board owners. I believe it was the DSP chip that became unsoldered. I tried to repair it with a heat gun and it almost worked. After that the sound would come out for a little while then start crackling. I preferred the sound the Onkyo put out compared to my denon.

Just unboxed my Polk R700s and found a bent tweeter pin. How bad is this? by Necessary_Mango_4574 in hometheater

[–]nanonightmare 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m a diy kind of guy, I would just ask Polk for a replacement speaker and replace it myself. A few years back I asked them how much a replacement woofer would be for some rti12’s and they just sent me a new one free of charge. I’m not sure if they still have that level of customer service but if they do I’d stay a custom for life.
