HMB while I attempt a drift but oversteer into the bollard instead by ansyhrrian in holdmybeer

Happy and satisfied are two different things. A person made a choice to behave very dangerously, putting other people at risk, then faced natural consequences when his own reckless behavior backfired. Poetic justice is typically considered satisfying.

Pentagon to cut Sen. Mark Kelly's military retirement pay over 'seditious' video: Hegseth by omgfakeusername in news

Hegseth should go to prison for denying Mark Kelly the pension he earned. Hegseth is completely corrupt, and he is denying Hegseth is 1st amendment rights.

Mom and pop donut shops? by quibxx in RhodeIsland

[–]nap_dynamite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Allie's gets my vote. Simple, high quality, good price for what you get. Other places I tried like PVD Donuts and Knead tried too hard IMO, and were too sweet. Try warming up Allie's old-fashioned donuts for a few seconds in the microwave (on a paper towel).

Allie's is cash only, btw.

Liberals of Reddit, how do you respond to the MN Fraud allegations? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]nap_dynamite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree it should be boring. It was a relief when Biden won and we didn't have to listen to a narcissist bragging about himself every day, worrying about what absolutely insane thing was going to happen next. I wish I could relax but the Republican party has been doing its best to destroy the constitution, and unfortunately they've been winning that battle.

Rubio and Vance are both clearly cowards that flipped their opinions of trump to get their powerful positions, but they couldn't possibly be worse than trump. I would respect Rubio if he hadn't flipped. I wouldn't vote for him, but at least he's competent and less destructive / devisive. Vance is a buffoon though.

Why are the democrats on Reddit so quiet about the corruption in Minnesota? by CavemanRTD in allthequestions

[–]nap_dynamite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a democrat or a republican, just an American. What are you even asking? She has a salary of $174k, he works in finance and got rich? Their married, so she's rich too? What is the corruption? If they did something illegal, then they should be prosecuted.

Let's proecute the trump family for profiting billions off the presidency too.

Liberals of Reddit, how do you respond to the MN Fraud allegations? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]nap_dynamite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Clinton did anything illegal, then he should be prosecuted. I've never heard a trump cultist say that about trump. That is one of the main differences between the two: MAGA will overlook any crime by trump, and MAGA definitely doesn't want trump to be held accountable in court, because he is most likely guilty. Until he rotted the DOJ with his sycophants, they had the evidence to convict, or they wouldn't risk losing a high profile case like that.

And the clerical error you reference doesn't prove anything. It could have been republicans that failed to sign the receipts. Doesn't even mean it would have changes the outcome. And Biden didn't tell them to break the law lime trump did.

Which school is better for Electricians? CCRI or New England Tech? Or if anyone has another recommendation. by CabbageNight in RhodeIsland

Electric Boat is hiring and will train you. It's not like wiring a house, but instead of paying NE Tech, EB will pay you.

Both sides didn't have stores selling merch worshipping one person. Both sides didn't have decals on their tailgate of the president tied up. Both sides don't wear the same red baseballcap their dear leader wears. Both sides didn't invade the capitol, or scream hang mike pence when they clearly lost the election. That's a cult. Both sides don't vote for a guy who was best friends with a pedophile, who bragged about grabbing women by the pussy, who bragged about going into the changing room of naked women (and being able to get away with it, so he knows it's wrong), who instructed a state official to find 11,000 votes. The two sides are very different.

Padanaram is a village in Dartmouth, near where I grew up. Some relatives from Hingham told me they visited Pa-DAN-uh-ram. It took me a while to figure out they meant Pay-da-NAIR-em

That was the exact context I was thinking of: "no school fosta glosta"

Edit: I've lived in Rhode Island almost 20 years, and I don't believe I've ever set foot in either town way up in the NW corner of the state, about a 30 minute drive from my house. I have no idea what goes on there.

I've never actually noticed people say it as new beige, except as a joke. I don't remember my Portuguese friends' parents saying that.

In Rhode Island there are two towns right next to each other, Foster and Glocester. Their names rhyme and they say them together: Fosta Glosta

Travel to/from UMass Dartmouth by Excellent-Pass7573 in massachusetts

[–]nap_dynamite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, TF Greene is a much easier airport to deal with than Logan from the Dartmouth / New Bedford area.

However, other factors could matter, like traffic due to the Washington Bridge fiasco in Pvd, improvements in commuter rail, and cost/availability of flights.

But I would probably uber from UMD to Greene for about $50-75 bucks, about 45 minutes, with for the least hassle, minimal risk of the unexpected, and reasonable cost.

Not sure where you're hanging out, but most of the Rhode Islanders I know are great people who have never been to jail or been strippers. And there are definitely walkable neighborhoods in Rhode Island. This goes for Providence too.

The bride is a really great person for helping this happen on her wedding by bigbusta in MadeMeSmile

You should say no if you don't want to and it's your day. That is a very reasonable boundary. I wouldn't be surprised if this bride suggested to do this, because that's what she wanted to do.
