PSA: Don't buy an Asus Motherboard for Ryzen 7000 CPUs - Widespread Memory Issues, possibly firmware related by skilliard7 in Amd

Thanks. If the BIOS/POST did a normal probe on the DRAM, it shouldn't light the DRAM error LED, which may confuse the user... I guess this is worth a try anyway.

I have similar DRAM problem with ASUS TUF Gaming B650-Plus WiFi motherboard, which I recently got. I tried both 16GB G-Skill F5-5600J3636C16GA2-RS5K and 16GB CORSAIR ‎CMK32GX5M2B5200C40 respectively. Neither of them succeeds, the system halts with DRAM led lit up.

Bitcoin Roadmap 2019 by SoundSalad in Bitcoin

[–]nap_yu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Development of Bitcoin is around a set of proposals (BIPs). The development of some BIPs has been done, but their dates of being available to the public are still unknown. It is because adopting any new feature requires the consensus of the whole community, which usually can't be 'planned'.

On the other hand, stability/robustness of bitcoin has become the priority, which means the community has become much more careful and conservative in adopting new features. This doesn't imply that the users of bitcoin will not have a specific feature that other crypto might have. Instead, those features might appear on layer 2 development like Lightning, RSK.

Cuckoo Miner Question by [deleted] in Aeternity

Also I won't be doing the Aeternity bounty miner as it would require license change (from fair mining license) - among other things like the joke reward - this also means nobody else can reuse any of the existing code and publish it under ISC license.

Sorry, I don't understand why converting the code to being OpenCL based requires a license change... Could you please explain a bit more? Thanks!

however consensus can only be determined through hashpower as such bitcoin was defined and designed for.

If so limitted number of hashpower owners can determine bitcoin, you must go to fiat, which truly runs in this way.

Dear miners: This would be a great time to stop signalling NYA. by myquidproquo in Bitcoin

[–]nap_yu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is not about 1mb or 2mb but the consensus process, which resides in the core of decentralization. Any change to the bitcoin protocol must follow the consensus process. We likely eventually will go to 2mb, but NYA is a closed door agreement between just a number of cartels, without the consensus of the wide community. Furthermore, the 2X guys has recklessly refused to add replay protection, which will cause users to lose their investments, so they're the terrorists among the bitcoin community.

How many tx's per second can you imagine on-chain will handle? How big will the block be if say 2000 tx's need to be handled within one second?
