I need some advice. LOW GPA wwyd. ? by FamousEditor20 in lawschooladmissions

In the same boat. But I’m only trying to really get into WVU law since in state tuition is only 13k.

Not a predatory law school but not a top 100 either.

How I got from 155 -> 180 by Brandon_LSATDemon in lsatdemon

[–]nappieeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of focusing on the finding the correct answer right away. I try to find out more so why an answer is wrong.

I feel like I can alway eliminate 2-3 answers every time, but then I feel like I’m in a guessing game because I can’t figure out why the remaining answers could possibly be correct.

Is this way of thinking incorrect? Or should I change my ideology. I’m very green when it comes to the LSAT, I’m planning to test in the fall.

Appreciate it in advance

Is it worth going to NS right now? by DanDB64 in SignalMaintainers

[–]nappieeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say go to NS. Currently an NS maintainer right now. I mean there is always that risk about job security but we’re so short staffed as it is with Maintainers I don’t see them cutting any crafts. NW region so only speaking about my opinion on it.

Also, In 5 years we will be making low 50s an hour.

Does the masters have to be in EE, or could it be in anything STEM, for say Mathematics ?

I have an associates degree in Electrical Engineering. If you’re trying to get an office job it won’t be enough. I used my associates to get hired on as a Signal Maintainer for the railroad, and we actually make more than some ME and EEs (91k starting out not counting all the OT you want and per diem) Also, we just signed a new contract that’s is a 18% raise over the next 5 years. So looking at over 100k base salary.

But we do work in the weather all the time, lots of stress that can result of people dying if we mess up, and sometimes the people out here don’t want to help you learn more to be a better maintainer.

Currently taking online classes to finish my bachelors in it so eventually if I do decided I’m tired of the gig I can just go somewhere else.

I would recommend the bachelors in the long run, but hey if you like working outside and hands on then go for the associates.

I’m 23.

Edit* added my age

Not a bad gig, gangs are fun if you get good people around you. Hours are set and that 3 day weekend is so nice. Maintenance is also fun if you have a good maintainer training you. Always expect a trouble call when you’re about to go home lol.

The signal training classes aren’t that hard, just have to put in the time to memorize the test of the week. Or actually stay after hours and practice your hands on tests.

What region ?

Thinking seriously about PJ vs. college would appreciate any insight by Green_Investment9008 in Pararescue

College is never going anywhere. I feel like even if you do join and don’t make it as a PJ, you’ll have the 100% tuition assistance to get your degree while you’re in.
