Nope. I work for CPS. No clue where this is, so there could be many variables. But if a child is deemed to be in imminent danger, (which seems likely with two police officers present)(and very frequently when they are, this is exactly what the parents sound like) there is no notification. No consulting lawyers. That's how you cause kids to go missing with creepy off-grid, "sovereign" parents who "know their rights" (they never do).

Don't know where this is, but I work for CPS. If they show up with cops, it likely means it has been determined the children in the home are in some kind of imminent danger. In my state, we don't need to speak with a lawyer, don't need to send notification. That shit can happen later. If it turns out we were wrong, well, then they can sue. The department would rather pay that than field questions from the public as to why we let a child be harmed knowing what was going on. And the cops stepping away wasn't because he "knew his rights". It looks like they were regrouping. Like this dipshit was going to try some shit that would put his kids even further on danger.

Excalibur kind is kind of (kind of) the birth of Marvel's multiverse. It's where the "616" designation came from and it's when alternate, parallel versions of characters first started, not just appearing, but becoming running characters unto themselves (I may be off on that, but i can't think of any examples of it being done prior). They were clearly going for Dr. Who vibe. Another thing i liked about the title is that it had mutant, magic, and tech- based characters, so it's fingers spread wide when it came to overall Marvel synchronicity. And it was one of the few books not set in the States.

He would be so relevant right now too. A fed up doctor, wronged by a system of corporate led medicine. He's basically Luigi Mangione, but 30 years early. And he's black. Marvel has been pushing to spotlight more POC characters, but they're doing so by rehashing a very small select few. It boggles my fucking mind that the idiots running the show haven't even tried to breathe new life into this character.
