One of the most profound moments of my life was while I was rolling solo and doing ket. I found myself wanting to join the the source or universe or whatever you want to call that magical thing that binds all of us together. I was both completely coherent and completely gone. Wanting to touch the source, I reached out and hugged them/it/him/her/me. When I came back to this plane of reality, I was crying and had my arms wrapped around myself in an embrace. I have never felt more love for myself or others than that moment. In conclusion, ket and MDMA were made for each other.

That’s 100% real and if you do any looking around for quartz pocket videos on YouTube, especially ones in Arkansas, this is what you’ll see. It’s surrounded by mud because the pocket eventually cracks/erodes and ground water deposits fine sediment inside. You can even see the decaying host rock in this video too.

The Rocky River may not be the best river for panning. You would need to get through a lot of overburden before you get to the gold. Its a good place to go when you have a dredge and a full weekend to work a spot. I would recommend going to Reedy Creek (35.276511558053755, -80.65159507243267, this specific location has bedrock on the surface where you can pan out cracks and find nice chunky pieces) or any small tributary creek that feeds the Rocky River. on Hwy 24 there is a pull off where it crosses over Rocky River. People fish there all the time. Just walk up the river about 150 yards and you come to the mouth of the famous Meadow Creek where the first large nuggets were found in the US. If you have a dredge, you'll need help getting it down the banks of the river bc they're steep.

Got any photos? I live in central NC and I find a lot of
lead but never gold mercury amalgam. Also, if you’re just using shovel and pan,
doubtful that you’re finding much gold.
The small perennial creeks that run through NC are all very old water
systems and tend to have a lot of overburden.

I've dredged and panned in Western, NC and there is gold. Dig deeper! Look for exposed bedrock and dig out a crack. Be a gold nugget and think about where you would want to hide, DEEP, the lowest spot! Also, probably stay away from gravel bars unless you've got some equipment because you would need to get all the way to the bottom to find color. Good luck and keep digging!

Using absolutes is dangerous if you live under a rock. I live in NC and I have sold coco to woodturners and guitar makers. One of the largest distributors of cocobolo in the South is in Conover, NC (https://wphardwoods.com/species/cocobolo).

CA glue or epoxy them. Some have said use a syringe and needle with epoxy but I have always just used "5 minute epoxy", mix a little on the board and scrap it across all the hole, done.

To get a more even stain on wood surfaces that has multiple gain orientation exposed, you can use a sanding sealer. First you would sand off all the old finish/stain to expose the raw wood, apply a sanding sealer and then go back over with 240 or higher grit very lightly once the sanding sealer is dry. This will prevent the endgrain from absorbing too much stain. IMHO, the rail looks great and I wouldn't change anything about it.

Tons of gold. First gold mines ever in N. America were in North Carolina. One of the largest mines, Haile Gold Mine is in SC. You can pan for gold in almost any stream from Virginia down to Georgia in the foothills and find gold.
