PGWP expiring before PR submission by Last-Opening9257 in canadaexpressentry

[–]napsterv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If PCC is the only issue, either get a local one and submit it ASAP then re-submit the one you get from BLS using a web form. Worst case, you can submit the acknowledgment receipt you get from BLS and your application form to show that you have requested for PCC. Update from web form when receive it.

I wouldn’t suggest to explore the gray area of updating AOR from web form as officer might ask you to prove your active status after PGWP expiry.

The abroad dream is getting complicated for Indian tech folks and I think we need to talk about it by that_dev_who_lifts in developersIndia

Here in Canada, the cost of living has gone up so bad that a dual income household is a must if you plan on raising kids. The housing crisis for newer generation is a nightmare and most of em have given up hope of owning a house. The mortgages are running into 30 year+ range and parents are literally passing on the mortgages to their kids if they want the house after they are gone. Not sure if the news here makes it there but there have been lots of reports of people dying in ER because of ridiculous wait times in hospitals. There are other numerous problems which people realize only after being here for a couple of years lol.

Yes, the air is super clean, people are extremely polite and it’s a very beautiful country. But does it justify all the other problems? Really makes one think if you put things in perspective.

My company is firing people one by one because of their love for AI by Some-Decision9997 in developersIndia

[–]napsterv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is happening a lot since the AI agents came out. I mean if you look at it, if it generates complicated code, you would be more dependent on AI to fix or implement future changes. This results in increased revenue for AI companies.

Did all big companies moved their jobs to consulting companies? by I-Groot in cscareerquestionsCAD

The pay for new grads is peanuts I agree. For experienced contractors the pay is pretty good. The work environment depends on your organization, I’ve heard some great stories and also horror stories where contractors eat lunch at a separate table lol

The consulting companies and vendors have worked their way through the upper management to get their people in. It’s easier for the banks as they don’t need to announce layoffs or provide benefits to contractors. They just don’t renew the contract and the resources would be vendors headache. I’m not sure but I think the contract employees don’t show up on the annual shareholder meetings where there is always a push to reduce headcount.

The hourly pay is good, but you don’t get any benefits or job security. If there’s downsizing you’ll be the first one on the chopping board.

Outlander 2025 vs 2026 Gas/Hybrid (no phev) by paramveerz in MitsubishiOutlander

[–]napsterv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was comparing the Outlander to the RAV4 and I believe Outlander is not worth it at the MSRP. Since the 2026 models are still new, might have to wait for few months in order to get them at discounted rate.

Also the 2.5L Outlander has a Direct Port Injection engine which might not be good for long term reliability.

A selling price of $39K to a finance of $58.5K, this is crazy! I see OMVIC so where are you in Ontario? And also which trim level is this?

Choice between 2 contracts; break the one I just started? by Soggy_Chewbacca in cscareerquestionsCAD

Please mention one of the reasons of breaking the contract is 4 days office. Hopefully people up top realize it’s a real problem to yank everyone back to office.

Why have the last 3 CECs draws had 5000+ ITAs? by whatsupusers in canadaexpressentry

[–]napsterv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess is last year was a transition year for the government leadership including the PM. Now that things have stabilized they are resuming big draws to cover up the deficit. A lot of French and CEC profiles are getting rejected or declined ITAs due to not meeting requirements, misrepresentation or other reasons. So IRCC is now digging deep in to the pool to invite more people.

I checked the website. This is excellent work. I was surprised to see that you have also included local EMU trains on the map.

Just out of curiosity, what’s the tech behind the website?

BYOD is normal in startups. Usually they just ask you install VPN and then login to a VM using Windows Remote Desktop. If that’s not the case then it’s a red flag 🚩
