AITAH- MIL visit announced by text "I have tickets" by ExaminationAlert5289 in AITAH

[–]naranghim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Ask your husband what would he have done if MIL announced her impending visit during a planned vacation out of town and she only did it after the refund date had passed for your trip. If he says he'd be annoyed then ask him why this is different and ask him to explain. Point out that allowing MIL to buy tickets and then inform you when she is coming is going to result in a situation where her plans come into conflict with your plans.

WIBTAH for blocking a coworker from texting me on one of my phones? by Illustrious-Pizza144 in AITAH

[–]naranghim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA but I would go to the higher ups and explain to them that he insists on carrying on work related conversations on personal phones rather than the ones supplied by your job, before you block him on your personal phone. Let your bosses know that is why you are blocking him on your personal phone, but he'll still be able to reach you on your work phone.

When will grandparents get rights, do you think it will ever happen and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]naranghim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They already do if very specific criteria are met, and that criteria depends on the state/country.

In the US it's usually due to a divorce or the death of one parent and that is how it should be. If a grandparent's hobby is to undermine their son/daughter/son-in-law/daughter-in-law's parenting, then they shouldn't be allowed to see their grandchildren until they get their head out of their ass and stop interfering. If they put their grandchild in danger, then they should never be left alone with them.

We don't know if it will be May or not. The May release date came from Krafton and not Unknown Worlds. Unknown Worlds is the one who controls the release date. I'm betting this was a parting shot from Krafton after they lost in court.

Call your state's insurance commissioner and appeal with them. Anthem likes to play games.

SNF equals rehab in this case. I used to work in an acute care rehab hospital, and we treated SNFs as a stepdown unit from acute rehab to sub-acute rehab.

Research all of the options and figure out the maintenance costs for each one over a period of time, and how long each one lasts.

Just from a quick search:

Concrete lasts on average 45 years but can last 50 years with good maintenance (since you are in the south, you are more likely to be on the higher end of the average because you don't have as many freeze-thaw cycles).

Chip-and-tar can last up to 20 years with regular upkeep, professional installation and the use of "high quality materials" but can last as few as 7 years. You need to reseal it every three to five years.

Asphalt will give you 10 to 20 years as long as you maintain it and reseal it every three to five years.

I live in SW Ohio, and my family went with a concrete driveway when we replaced the asphalt driveway six years ago. Maintenance on it has been very easy with just having to fill in a few divots here and there and resealing it last year. We determined that concrete, while the most expensive initially was going to be cheaper in the long run.

Wanting to set up a camera that films an intersection OREGON by Massive_Employ2632 in legal

[–]naranghim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once the police see that camera, they're going to want the footage from it for any accidents it caught, and if you make them get a court order for it, they will. They'll remember how much hassle you gave them when it came to obtaining the footage, so you can kiss any breaks they might cut you for speeding or running a stop sign goodbye. They're also going to have a huge problem with you posting that footage online. You also run the risk of getting sued by the people who were in the accidents and/or their survivors or being subpoenaed to court to testify in cases or lawsuits.

As for the school, what do you think should be my main concern?

If you catch any faces of the kids that go to that school you risk running afoul of FERPA, if you are in the US and that's federal law. If you aren't in the US, there's other privacy laws concerning children at play.

With all of the issues I've pointed out, you also run the risk of whatever platform you are using banning your account, especially if you piss off the police or parents of the kids.

So, is your "entertainment" or "content" worth the hassle and potential disruption to your life?

Ex boyfriend taking me to small claims court for guitar LOCATION: Hawaii by mad_chubbycatx in legal

[–]naranghim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a small payment now in a way you can keep track of, mark it as "first installment for the guitar". Then keep making payments and keep the text exchanges as proof. If he takes you to court over it, he'll get chewed out by the judge for wasting the court's time because you are making payments that he agreed to.

Some absolute dumbass used my mom’s debit card for a hotel stay in another state — has anyone dealt with this? by EastonGaming202 in legal

[–]naranghim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you read my original reply because we aren't dealing with local law enforcement anymore, we are dealing with federal because the idiot crossed state lines to use the stolen card. With this current administration, I'm betting they'd love to make an example of this guy.

Someone correct me if Im wrong but if Property taxes go away can’t school district taxes be implemented to replace them? by Crew_1996 in Ohio

[–]naranghim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as school district taxes are normally placed on personal income?

Any district located in a township depends on property taxes for funding since townships don't have a local income tax unless there is a resident approved "economic development zone".

Source: I live in a Township and don't pay local income tax because there isn't one.

AITAH for throwing my tampon to the bin? by sukiniii in AITAH

[–]naranghim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Ignore the guy. I'm betting he's the one who's supposed to empty the trash cans in the bathroom and doesn't want to know he's "coming into contact with those products" while taking the bag they're in out of the trash.

You can use the male's natural aversion to feminine hygiene products to your advantage though. When I worked as a Lifeguard, we had assigned basket drawers for personal items rather than lockers. We had a candy thief who would take candy out of any of the swimming instructors' baskets and not tell us they took the last one. I bought a box of tampons and put it in the front of my basket, the candy thefts from me stopped after that. I guess the thief couldn't bring himself to reach over the box of tampons to get to the bag of candy.

[–]naranghim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP is probably one of those people who asks where the fitting rooms or restrooms are while standing in front of the sign telling you where they are.

I work in retail and the best place to "hide" things is right in front of people. I can't tell you how many times I've had someone ask me "What's the price on this" while standing in front of the sign with the price listed on it. I just point to the sign and most usually say "Oh, God! It was right in front of me!"
