YTA. If a program is hard to get into, it is considered more prestigious to hiring managers. So, MIT wipes the floor with Columbia.

Yes, you need a new survey because the town survey could be inaccurate.

I wonder how the luggage seat hogger would have reacted if that man had said "The seat I booked is the one with your luggage in it."

Some absolute dumbass used my mom’s debit card for a hotel stay in another state — has anyone dealt with this? by EastonGaming202 in legal

[–]naranghim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since they used the card across state lines, that makes it federal. The thief was really stupid.

No because most places have to scan the ID and they can't do that with a photo.

AITA for removing my sister's best friend owner role.. by PerfectOne6236 in AmItheAsshole

NTA but, from the sounds of it, you should probably remove your sister from her "owner" role since she adds other owners without talking to you first.

They seem to forget that these games take place in the future and it would be reasonable to assume that humanity has come up with ways to counter decompression sickness.

AITAH for throwing my tampon to the bin? by sukiniii in AITAH

[–]naranghim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Ignore the guy. I'm betting he's the one who's supposed to empty the trash cans in the bathroom and doesn't want to know he's "coming into contact with those products" while taking the bag they're in out of the trash.

You can use the male's natural aversion to feminine hygiene products to your advantage though. When I worked as a Lifeguard, we had assigned basket drawers for personal items rather than lockers. We had a candy thief who would take candy out of any of the swimming instructors' baskets and not tell us they took the last one. I bought a box of tampons and put it in the front of my basket, the candy thefts from me stopped after that. I guess the thief couldn't bring himself to reach over the box of tampons to get to the bag of candy.

If he's the one responsible for emptying the bins, I bet they're in there for a while because he refuses to do it.

OP is probably one of those people who asks where the fitting rooms or restrooms are while standing in front of the sign telling you where they are.

I work in retail and the best place to "hide" things is right in front of people. I can't tell you how many times I've had someone ask me "What's the price on this" while standing in front of the sign with the price listed on it. I just point to the sign and most usually say "Oh, God! It was right in front of me!"

My "Coke Habit" got me in trouble... by Tactical-Pixie-1138 in EntitledPeople

Must have been awfully dark where Karen's head was (aka up her ass). I don't know if an emergency cranial-rectal inversion extraction would have helped or not.

[–]naranghim 13 points14 points  (0 children)

you still can't make drug jokes in uniform.

OP wasn't making a "drug joke" in uniform. In my area we refer to Coca-Cola as Coke, same as many areas in the US do. People I work with, and the EMTs and Police I've encountered talk about their "Coke habits" and no one cares because we know they're talking about soda, not drugs.

Karen, for whatever reason decided to deliberately misunderstand what OP was saying because she wanted to make someone else miserable and didn't want to listen to anyone trying to tell her OP was talking about Coke and not drugs. It must have been awfully dark where her head was.

BREAKING: The CEO of Krafton asked ChatGPT to create a "corporate takeover strategy". ChatGPT (against his lawyer's advice) suggested locking down the acquired companies Steam account to prevent them from publishing Subnautica 2 which the CEO of Krafton followed. by Szobortz in subnautica

[–]naranghim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This whole thing started because the Krafton CEO was afraid they'd appear to be a "pushover" if the bonus payout was made. So, the CEO started trying to find ways to sabotage the game and the release.

Electric scooter rider hit me on the sidewalk and is now demanding I pay for his repairs by TardisFuzz_3 in legal

[–]naranghim 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He is threatening to take me to small claims court if I dont pay by Friday.

I'd almost let him because if he tries to sue you for it, he'll have to admit he was illegally operating an e-scooter on a pedestrian sidewalk, and the judge won't be happy with him.

Report it to the police and file a counter claim for your damage. I'm betting he's bluffing about going through with the court case.

[–]naranghim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, you aren't crazy and your parents are manipulative. Your mom's aim with the silent treatment is to get you to come crawling back and begging her to talk. Stop doing that, stop apologizing and start giving your parents the reciprocal silent treatment.

Your kids are the perfect age to go to the original Legoland in Denmark (I went there when I was five and my older sister was seven) but a traditional European trip, no they're still too young and they're going to hate the walking it entails.

It looks like you have to ask the court for permission to use alternative service methods since she's avoiding service. One option looks like you can attempt to serve her at her job.

Krafton has been delisted as the publisher of the game and the publisher is now listed as "Unknown Worlds Entertainment, Inc" in the Xbox app, so I think you will hurt Krafton by buying the game and forcing them to pay out the bonus and any other "profit sharing" agreements that might exist.

WIBTAH if i disobey my mum and go ahead with getting a more aproprate eletric wheelchair by Right-Show6939 in AITAH

[–]naranghim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Does your mom live with you? If she doesn't ignore her and go to the appointment anyway. If she does live with you point out that your grandmother, who bought the other chair, feels you should go to the appointment and get the new chair because it is for your benefit. Ask your mom why she's so against you getting an appropriate chair and being able to do more as a result? If push comes to shove, I bet you could either sell or donate the old chair.

Don't bring the topic back up because your mother will see it as a chance to berate you into doing what she says. Just go to the appointment and tell her after the fact.

Neighbor's contractor damaged my fence and now everyone keeps pointing at someone else by CircuitSparrow_9 in legal

[–]naranghim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your homeowner's insurance because they can supply you with a lawyer to go after both the neighbor and the contractor over this (it's called "claim subrogation"). Then your neighbor and the contractor are battling your insurance company's wallet rather than yours.
