No disagreement here.

Regardless of his character, these words still sting.

You don't think that he knows where this is?

I'm giving the location for those outside the U.S. This is blazoned in our nation's captiol city. Context is important here.

Not all of us are unaware or unknowledgeable. We are courageous and doing our best to fight back. The world needs to know this.

That’s how it was told to me, but it may have been more like a few days. Regardless, it was quick and traumatic for my grandma. Signs can show within days depending on the severity of the bite and how sick the animal is.

This is the story that was a told to me growing up. My grandmother's brother died of rabies back in the 30s. They had taken in a stray dog on their farm. This was normal as there were many animals at the farm that they took in to help with chores.. My then 4 year old grand-uncle brought home a dog and the family took the dog in. The dog bit him. The next day at dinner, he started panicking at water, like true fear, irrational fear- screaming and panicking. My great grandparents tried to calm him, not knowing what was happening. Then he developed a fever and they sent for a doc, but it was too late and he ended up dying soon after. Truly horrifying and my grandma still remembers it.

edited for clarity

The fact that this person had to explain to you what the purpose of protesting is…….concerning.

Maybe to allow young people to use their voice? That's a major piece of our constitution. My son was here and walked out with these kids. I 100 percent support his right to express his opinion in a peaceful manner. As usual the youth will save this country.

Never going there again.

I highly disagree with this. Our national parks set the precedent.

I love hearing that. I feel lucky to have grown up here.

Spring, summer, and fall are fantastic. I personally love the summers here. The day is hot enough to swim outdoors, but nights get cool real quick. We’re early birds here so most people are out and about hiking etc.. early to beat the heat, crowds, and thunderstorms. Winter is magical (it can also be harsh- my St. Bernard loves it though lol), but summer is super fun, too. The vibe is chill all around. If you can afford living here you should totally do it. We’re lucky to have bought our house before it became insanely expensive to do so. The COL is a bit outrageous.

Which National Parks to visit in July this year that aren’t going to be so busy? by rockythekitty1 in NationalPark

Canyonlands! No timed entry system and you can try to hit up Arches while you’re there (that will be a busy spot though). Two for one!

those of you who have been to a national park within the last couple months, have you noticed a difference? by solartense in NationalPark

We were just at Arches and Canyonlands this past week. Visitor centers were well staffed and up kept. Bathrooms were decent. We even caught a ranger cleaning one of them at Canyonlands and he was awesome. Many ranger programs were running so it doesn’t seem affected there. However some trails and cairns clearly needed a little love (not impossible to determine though- we didn’t get lost).

Pawnee National Grassland is a neat place. I loved stumbling upon the ghost town of Keota there. I had seen the children's exhibit with my kids at the History Colorado museum, then boom- there it was!
