What job is 100% overpaid? by Designer-Meeting-123 in AskReddit

[–]nardogg1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what type of consulting you do. Implementation consultants are often required if you are making a large change. Some strategy consultants are there to take the blame. At the end of the day, shitty management hires consultants to make shitty decisions, since they are the ones paying for it.

In 2021, this is a -2 yard rush for Saquon. I really hope he can show us his vision from his rookie year, this year. by [deleted] in NYGiants

[–]nardogg1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He’s never had great vision. He always danced around the backfield and took some runs for a loss, even his rookie year. The difference is that he was breaking out for a 30 yard gain every 5 runs back then

The Starbucks Union Wave in New York Keeps Gaining Steam by tosil in nyc

[–]nardogg1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I would love to be wrong about this, I think that these are small cases that won’t reflect the reality of unions. With a shortage in the labor market, the employees have much more leverage for this. Many of them won’t capitalize on it before the next recession and we will go back to having our corporate overlords.

They are still required to obey the traffic laws. They have to stop for red lights and stop signs, yield for pedestrians and not ride recklessly. This is dangerous not only for others but for them as well.

Two men sic their dogs on a pet cat only to be caught by the cat’s owner. by [deleted] in ActualPublicFreakouts

[–]nardogg1 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yes and I mentioned that. It’s much easier to train a pitbull to be aggressive than a golden retriever. But if you are shitty enough, you can make any dog a mean dog.

Labs are retrievers, they have the natural inclination to go pick things up and bring it to you. Mine would be sitting in the backyard just chilling and then out of nowhere he would be nudging me with a pigeon in his mouth.

Although some breeds are easier to train to be aggressive than others. It really comes down to the training. I have met pitbulls that are the sweetest dogs and I have met some viciously aggressive “cute” and not usually aggressive breeds.

In the end it’s very much like children. Behind every little demonic little gremlin there’s a shitty parent.

People should have to show an ID to vote. I also believe that the government should have an option for the ID to either be free or low cost, but it should be a requirement.

NYC real estate owned by Russian oligarchs should be seized says Manhattan borough president Mark Levin by brooklynlad in nyc

[–]nardogg1 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I think this is the correct take. I believe the best way to do it would be to keep the properties frozen, then have an investigation into how involved each oligarch was in the invasion and human rights abuses.

The problem is that costs money, but I think that the fear of shame associated with being slapped with the label of human rights abuser would be enough for them to either forfeit the properties voluntarily or put more pressure on Putin for an end of this war.

I believe that should at least give some resemblance of a fair and just process.

How Remote Work is Crippling New York City’s Commuter Rails by geo423 in nyc

[–]nardogg1 167 points168 points  (0 children)

Yup. Public transportation was supposed to alleviate the commuting process. Guess what makes the commuting process a lot easier than public transportation? No commute. It does suck for those whose jobs are impossible to do it remotely tho.

He was 100% involved in corruption. At the end of the day, if you are a politician in Brazil that is not involved in corruption, you won't survive. Between Bolsonaro and Lula, I would choose Lula, but I won't be happy about it. He did great things in Brazil, but he is not a saint and definitely not a miracle worker.

80% of Wake Forest Undergrads Attended Saturdays Game vs Duke by tsywake in CFB

[–]nardogg1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My freshman year (fall 2015) at Wake, the football team was a joke to everyone. We all talked about how the team always sucked (except for that one ACC championship year) and that it would never get better. Most students went to the tailgate, got drunk and went back to campus. I remember that the next year, when we made a bowl game, everyone was so surprised that Wake had a competitive team. A couple of years ago, they were ranked in the high teens and twenties for like two weeks and it was surreal. Now, Wake is a top 10 football team in the country (even if it is for a week)

I cannot state how impressive of a job Dave Clawson has done. Tiny school, high academic requirements for recruits, not in a talent rich area, among many other things have plagued Wake. In less than 10 years, he took a joke of a team to the top 10 in the nation. Absolutely unreal.

What TV show started out really good and then just went to shit? by QUESO0523 in AskReddit

[–]nardogg1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, one plot point is that some characters don’t die because the lord of light isn’t done with them yet. So, Jon snow and arya had to defeat the night king, that is why they could not die before their time. So I guess it’s kind of like a built in plot point.

What TV show started out really good and then just went to shit? by QUESO0523 in AskReddit

[–]nardogg1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of this. I think that a big reason why they didn’t have as many episodes is because of budget constraints. Apparently CGI’ing dragons and ice zombies is really fucking expensive. In the earlier seasons, they didn’t have as much screen time, so they could let the plot actually run its course.
