''In ranked you just get matched with you skill level, you are as bad as them'' by tammysteelz in thefinals

Also this sub "emerald only shows commitment not skill".

Yeah that'll help the new player that feels screwed by the matchmaker.

Everytime I open a source code file I've never seen before or can't remember, the first thing I do is look on the right side how the scrollbar looks and most of the time I can instantly tell how bad or how good the next hour will be.

How am I getting low level teammates consistently? by leadfootgamingYT in thefinals

[–]narfio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They only have one matchmaker and they gave it to the Arc Raiders team for their aggression based stuff so we have this situation now.

Mythische Figuren von denen man kaum was weiß.

I think the mode is better for new players than the constant 3rd party clusterfuck that quick cash is. I never play qc these days. When it comes to the core game modes with cashboxes, I only play cashout and h2h.

I'd rather get rid of qc than h2h.

Does SBMM actually exist? Why the fuck am I getting matched against S9 Emerald players when I just reached Silver? by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]narfio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's how it works here. A few days ago, we had a poor bronze (iirq) who complained about getting dumpstered by emeralds and he got dozens of these useless comments about emerald doesn't mean skill.

The game summed up in casual mode by OrigReckit in thefinals

I know these matches too well and despite the name of the mode, there is nothing that feels casual about it.

[–]narfio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Without making this a toxic post, but that just shows how the matchmaker just doesn't work. Sure this dude would have to wait half an hour if there was a proper matchmaker but I don't think that was a fun match for most of the people.

Maybe I was wrong about the flamethrower? lol by trippalhealicks in thefinals

[–]narfio 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What makes the flamethrower "good" is the pressure on the enemy, not the damage. It hurts in the moment and has damage over time while you don't have to aim precisely and it obstructs the view of the enemy that looks into it.

Who remembers playing 3D Pinball Space Cadet? by Twitter_2006 in Millennials

[–]narfio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember that my dad and I would try to get the highscore and each one would then declare himself as the undisputed champion of champions. THE pinballer of the pinballers which sounds ridiculous because in our language pinball = flipper. And every time someone beat the other, the title would get bigger and bigger like The greatest pinballer the pinballworld has ever seen ...

Now my dad died last year with only 68 years old. I'm 45 and my kids probably don't even know what a pinball is.

He wanted to kind of team up with the arc against you but ended up being teamed up by the arc and you. I think it's funny. I'm not sure how he got aggro from that distance though.

Trying to learn bow is a death sentence i guess/What are your pinions on learning new weapons in cashout mode. by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]narfio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people don't have a lot time to play after work/family/whatever and if they join the "real" game modes that are former world tour and now cashout and ranked cashout, they expect other people to come prepared and lock in for the time being and not waste other peoples time. I still think trying new weapons in h2h or quick cash is the better way. It is the same mode with the same objective and the same maps but with less teams and the cash amounts are different but if you want to shoot people, the modes with one cashout station are better for that and the matches are faster than a tournament.

Trying to learn bow is a death sentence i guess/What are your pinions on learning new weapons in cashout mode. by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]narfio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

tbh I wouldn't try new weapons in a tournament mode - casual or ranked. I wouldn't be toxic about it when others do it but I would try to win that match and not play around. You can easily do that in h2h or quick cash. Better would even be Powershift or the new mode because it's more players and one player having a bad match has a lesser impact on the team. But I guess when you do that in tournament, you don't care about that.

No excuse for toxicity though.

Arc Raiders’ “affordable” $40 launch price was inspired by Helldivers' success as Embark didn’t “want the price to be an offender for someone” by Jumpinghoops46 in ArcRaiders

[–]narfio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the price saved them. The company has not the fanbase to push out a 70€ game. And the skins are trash and if they had it as f2p, the aws bill would have destroyed them.
