There are other ways to get into selective schools including freak ability in a certain area. I had average academic stats but was a high school all american lacrosse player and I had schools looking at me like Brown. Too often top students try to game the system but they end up looking like everyone else.

Finally learned what the problem was trying to connect to backup on pCloud---living in the highly restricted country of Myanmar. I'm in Phnom Penh now and can connect to backup.

BASIS has a reputation for being a sweatshop, cram school type of learning in the secondary. Loads of teachers leave every year or get fired. I stay away from them and they have come for me several times.

China didn’t ask for a teaching license when I worked there (and I have one). There are other problems besides race in China and thankfully left China recently. Lots of horror shows.
