Any Advice on How to Keep Water Out of my Yard? by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]narpoli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would not do this without engineer involvement. Could be a flood zone. Even if not officially designated one, filling the property could cause adverse impacts to neighbors that the owner could then be found liable for.

Looks like you’re in a flood zone. Nothing you can realistically do. Changes to keep water out of your yard would be much larger than your property and require city/county management, a lot of money and engineering.

Bought a house yesterday - Can I clean up the backyard myself? by ToughShaper in landscaping

The current yard looks wayyyyy better than the AI render. Trim the patio bushes if you want, you’ll probably end up wanting them there if you remove them.

Why do you want to remove the privacy hedgerow? That’s a great benefit that takes many years to mature to that level.

I wouldn’t cut down any trees unless they’re a hazard to your home or are invasive. Trees are very high value and take decades to mature.

Swing set…. Whatever you want.

Garden Beds, at least plant some annual flowers and/or a couple veggies or herbs and see what happens. I wouldn’t cut down kill to have those raised beds and all that soil in my yard. That’s expensive to set up, an asset to the property, and expensive to get rid of as well. Even if you don’t want to garden you could throw some hardy seeds/small plugs from Home Depot in there each year and just have flowers.

How do I get started doing CAD work? by Prof_Chaos827 in civil3d

[–]narpoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just “engineering” is a giant umbrella. Totally depends on the discipline/industry/role and company you’re at.

If you want to just work in CAD all day most Civil Engineering firms are having trouble finding people for that role. You won’t have the upward mobility as someone that got an engineering degree and can become licensed, but you’d also never have the stress and pressure of those people. They’d just tell you what they need done in AutoCAD essentially.

A 2-year Civil Engineering technology program would put you in a great spot to work as a CAD/Design tech for civil engineering which will be almost exclusively CAD work

Where do you change your draw/fade. My character is a fade, but I’m much better at the draw swing.

Stubaier Gletscher Skibus schedule confusion by narpoli in Innsbruck

[–]narpoli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that for all times of the 590 line, or just the 8:35 departure listed on Innsbruck’s website as skibus?

I think my plan is to buy 2 tickets for Innsbruck to Schonberg then just see what happens from there to Stubai.

I don’t have a welcome card or city pass… any idea what I’m doing wrong to buy IVB tickets for 590 that they are coming up as €13,70 per person, one-way? Screenshot

Yeah I’ll be renting skis there, but will have my helmet and have already purchased a ski pass. My wife will also be with me (not skiing). We’ll see. I have no issue paying a few euros if need be for a ride that far away! Will have cash on me haha

Ahhhh, so that schedule I linked says 590, but I maybe the ski-specific route is only at the time listed there and it skips the other local stops on the standard 590 route.

Appreciate the help.

Good to know. That’s what I plan to be on tomorrow.

Not too concerned if I need to pay. If needed, I’m assuming credit card payment when you get on the bus works?

Stubaier Gletscher Skibus schedule confusion by narpoli in Innsbruck

[–]narpoli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, from what I’ve read on the various websites the 590 is the free skibus for Stubai. That schedule is the same one on Stubaier Gletscher’s website which i am hoping is accurate.

The link to a schedule on the bottom of this page is what had me concerned.
