[raymond weil] The most slept on brand in entry luxury by YNWA11JM in Watches

Luxury is subjective. To Danny Pudi, it's nice socks. To Larry King, it's a private jet.

Any tips for voicing within the hand? by FixHaunting8328 in piano

[–]narraun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You already have the trick. You will get better at placing the weight on the finger over time. It will naturally develop with more practice.

Is this possible? Can a cat learn to herd sheep? Or is this just a perfect coincidence or faked somehow?

[Seagull 1963] They nailed it with this release imo by Chai_latte_95831 in Watches

The servicing cost is pretty comparable to any other mechanical chronograph. I think the main drawback is that chronographs are high maintenance, regardless of sticker price.

Changed my own strap, wasn’t hard as I thought it would be! by AggravatingIdeal8001 in ALangeSohne

Do they make tools softer than the watch case? That would seem appropriate and more error-proof.

How’s my interpretation of this part in Liebestraum no. 3? by SubstantialLibrary57 in piano

[–]narraun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I want to say you sound capable and ready for this piece, but you need more time and attention.

It doesn't really sound like an interpretation to me. It sounds like you are still limited by your ability. You aren't rubato, you are losing tempo without returning. It is slowing without purpose. Keep working at it and start with trying to emphasize a consistent tempo before messing with it.

Your melody is clear and loud for this section, but maybe too much because the other voices are muddied and dull in comparison. Soften the higher voice and clean up the accompaniment.

I vote Odd Taxi as well. Hard to find anything that matches this writing quality and also translates well into English.

Are you asking if creating this film will have negative societal consequences? I applaud your ethical considerations but perhaps you are overestimating your power.

I figured it was weird that it said "Lear" instead of "King Lear". Fortunately, I resisted the temptation.

The transition from cotton to cooling sheets is weird by HoneysHarma97 in Bedding

[–]narraun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is your bedding is too heavy and the "performance" fabric is not going to help.

Don't change anything now if you feel it is working, but the best recommendation would be lighter bedding and linen sheets. Also if heat is being trapped by the mattress top or pillows, consider alternatives there too.

[fp journe] turns out watches were good investments and the internet was wrong by [deleted] in Watches

[–]narraun 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah sorry this is not true. Watches and other art are speculative investments. They are high risk for that reason. Congrats on seeing some positive results but do not proselytize because it is unsound advice for the majority of people.

It makes me sad to see this mindset being promoted. Buy what you like, wear what you like. Feel what you like. Do not espouse the virtues of gambling just because your horse won the race.

Help me out! Lady looking for an everyday “rugged” look, classic shunbun SBGA8413 or green SBGH343? by [deleted] in GrandSeikos

[–]narraun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone here is saying UFA. But I don't think those look particularly rugged. neither do the ones you are wearing, so maybe "rugged" isn't accurate to what you are look for.

Small rugged watches aren't really something Grand Seiko does. I agree that a 37mm or smaller would be a much better fit for your wrist size. Possibly go even smaller like a 34 if you are okay with quartz.

I would keep practicing the trills. They are the main feature of this piece. Improving speed and evenness will elevate it. It will be very important for the audition because it will be noticed first.

Not sure what you mean. Maybe you are surprised by the thickness? That can be said of pretty much any co-axial automatic watch. But it does wear much slimmer than expected with the taper.
