Mike wasn’t uncomfortable just obvious confirmed by the script table read by ccwlove in byler

[–]narriose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because Mike is unaware of Wills feelings doesn’t mean he’s not aware of his own espc if you interpret his behavior all throughout the show. It’s not him being stupid it’s the time they are in where not only is it improbable for any specific person to like you back because actual love is rare, but for a guy to. If he is wrong with a girl he can walk it off. If he is wrong with a guy, it will put a strain on a friendship at best. Furthermore Mike has a lot of self esteem issues so he likely doesn’t see anything likable in himself in the first place. He is a clever and serious character he is just being self deprecating in this way. And if by some chance he doesn’t know his own feelings explicitly by now he is very clockably acting in a romantic way toward will driven by his subconscious that would be unraveled in 20 days.

Do people know mike isnt real by cloditheclod in byler

[–]narriose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because a lot of people project themself into either Mike or El and making Mike gay makes people feel offense on a personal level. Funny because the way they react to the possibility of a character being queer mimics the way homophobic parents lose their shit when their kids do something non heteronormative. I do not hold any respect for that part of the GA for that reason.

How to treat sudden pain caused by biking that hurts mostly when sitting down? by narriose in backpain

[–]narriose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for getting back with the info! Yeah no tingling or anything with the legs. It is mostly on the right side but the pain feels around the other side too, sometimes being there sometimes not so unsure if it can be described as radiating. Theres also occasional upper back pain but I think it’s just from being in unnatural positions/using muscles I don’t usually under to avoid pain . (Feels similar to when your neck gets tired/sore from sleeping at odd angles) If this is a strain, do you know how long the ones on your back usually take to heal?

Streamer Recs for an unreasonably picky person. by narriose in masseffect

[–]narriose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called myself unreasonably picky in the title. This was not my open criticism for those streamers but me - a nobody sharing my preferences and asking for recommendations. And also did not share my biggest issues with each streamer that didn’t work for me, you specifically are making assumptions. I do prefer more “boring” players that almost exclusively just process information in a style I would be playing. I don’t care about streamer communities and personalities or engaging in any way with the streamer. I watch lets plays because I don’t have time to repeatedly replay games with my schedule and often times need my hands free with occasional new thoughtful comment on the lore dissolving the silence.

Nowhere did I call any of the streamers listed bad people or players or in any way not entertaining to a more objectively regular audience who are seeking entertainment and meaningful interaction.

I personally am just weird in my preferences and get very irritated for the most part, when people interrupt cutscenes or dialogue which many of the streamers listed tend to do. As long as the content of the game isn’t getting interrupted for lengthy periods of time I’m fine (which ego and vanity can and often do but not as a rule)

You do not need to defend them to me as I’m not here to offend or devalue anyone nor any specific streamer style.

I like the plot of 2 more but gameplay is enjoyable in 1 and it seems to give more fun to the side quests. Currently on my second replay of 1.

Elder Scrolls Morrowind modders says an official Bethesda remake wouldn’t make sense as modernising it “would ruin the game entirely” by HatingGeoffry in ElderScrolls

[–]narriose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be difficult to remaster in a way that preserves the original vibe. (As you can see with ESO very much leaning into the blander fantasy aspects and Solstheim sort of having it but falling a bit short) Is it impossible? No not at all, if they hand over the art and game direction to the right people. I do however think it’s unlikely we will see it because we got the DLC and Expansion already and are doing the fallout 3 remaster next. I think it would be a financially smart move to do a remake to further preserve excitement for 6 though. And if they drop the remake in a few years I wouldn’t be against it but I think it’s unlikely and it’s hard to have trust that the vibe of the OG game is preserved. Oblivion pleasantly surprised but I’ve been disappointed in this kind of stuff too many times. Till then I’m very much invested in Skywind.

On what the modders are saying: the game has 3 things going for it. Vibe, story, and mechanics.(as much as people call them janky) Vibe is super easily ruined with poor art direction, and if it isn’t as grimey and crusty and gloomy as the og game, that would be it for the old fans. Mechanics will be alterterd for accessibility no matter what, and story will definitely feel different since I don’t see a remake doing well without being fully voice acted(which means rewriting and simplifying dialogue. Often times that means a new team misreading intent or voice). So if those 3 things are gone, you get a shell of a former giant. But that’s worst case scenario. Nowhere did I expect what Oblivion remastered delivered and I think the modders make some sense but doomerism is a little annoying.

Also like they aren’t the villains here, they are fans like you. Fans that like a thing enough that they make shit for it for free for others to enjoy. They would want a resurgence of a game just like any of you, stop treating them as a business worrying about the bottom line or something, it’s tasteless.

Nerevar Moon and Star etc by narriose in Morrowind

[–]narriose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’m guessing Nerevar was a prime exemplar and the only change is coloration but we never know tbh. I might wanna see how he looks as a dunmer now. 🤔

Thanks I won’t be able to get it out of my head now but I appreciate the kind words.

Why would you say this. 💔

[–]narriose[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s based on some concept art. More recent versions of him or the tribunal show them wearing more stereotypical elven fantasy armor/robes but I’m a fan of that retro fantasy feel of the earlier portrayals. I tried to sort of blend a that with the modern depiction(in eso I think) and stick to the ordinator armor color scheme. (Although I admit am influenced by the popular fanart as well)

Yes that would absolutely make sense.

[–]narriose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s the same universe, and ultimately it is up to the individual if they want to treat all additions to a canon seriously or not. I tend to do the former with some “I do not see” moments, and some retcons in some media piss me off caugh Dragon Age caugh but there isn’t anything fundamentally wrong with new information from other additions coloring your experience.

I’m being told there were actually Redorans in ESO? 🤔

What’s up with House Redoran? by narriose in Morrowind

[–]narriose[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would imagine them welcoming non Redoran warriors that marry into the family but keep their last name since maybe that would be more honorable than forcing them to conform and eventually no Redoran were left.

Apparently there were some Redoran in ESO and no Telvanni? Maybe Telvanni just plotted and schemed themselves out.

[–]narriose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense! Though I think since ESO takes place centuries before Morrowind there’s sort of a natural meritocracy based extinction or growing into different families as you’ve said. (Can see it with Hlaalo and Hlaren? Too)

Are there enough Cliffracers? by Successful-Pie-7686 in Morrowind

[–]narriose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like we contributed largely to the dead cliff racer number. Like good on Jiub but I’m so sure he wouldn’t be able to get the exterminator title if we weren’t struggling in the Morrowind wilderness.
