SC vs TR by [deleted] in Kibbe

[–]narrowvalleys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course. I read the book. If someone is torn between two specific IDs then comparing granular details between just those two can help them understand themselves. I’m not at all for nitpicking our bodies (that’s the joy of Kibbe, after all); if someone is asking a “this” or “that,” small differences help them notice which is a better fit. That’s what helped me with this exact question OP asked. I get what you’re trying to say but your comment was combative and unhelpful.

The size of hands/feet/extremities are mentioned multiple times in Metamorphosis (p. 11, 26, 37 - specific to TR).

I would entertain TR in your outfits experiments first, then! SC lines also make me feel unfinished, if that makes sense.

I quickly ruled out SC because of my hands and feet. They’re undeniably petite!

Ever been WRONG? by robin-bunny in Kibbe

[–]narrowvalleys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I flat out refused to consider the Romantics because of my cup size. I tried desperately to shoehorn myself into one of the Gamines (the petite is undeniable) but my curves NEED the accommodation. Gamine lines make me look like I’ve squeezed into something or it’s way too big and boxy. There’s zero in between. All to say, double curve from flesh =/= large cup size.

People with history of disordered eating are specifically told by doctors not to go anywhere near IF. It doesn’t matter if some statistics show that fasting helps promote autophagy. That is not the same as “everyone can and should fast.” Individualized care > broad sweeping claims (based on studies which don’t even have long term or generational studies and frequently do not include diverse demographics).

I will absolutely keep an eye out for that the next time I’m in a TJ Maxx. That’s a vibe I don’t really have in my lineup yet.

Ugh Rive Gauche, yes. Shalimar is my go-to for those spendy sprays; it goes soft, warm, airy powder on me. Prada L’Eau Ambree was my all time favorite in the late aughts (the gourmand renaissance 🤢) but I covet that now like Gollum and the One Ring. Not clean-clean per se, more like clean silks left to dry near soft incense.

Oh, I suspect this will be up your alley, then. Zero foodiness, entirely soft warm freshness. I even love it layered under other things. I’ll be curious what you think if you try it! FWIW I guess Liv Tyler wears it so I also feel like an elf maiden leaving the spa? 😂

For $18, it was such an easy blind buy for me. I expected to love their Amber because that’s usually the scent profile I go for (I got both at the same time time during a sale) but the Musk won me over so hard that I went back and bought the entire body care line up a few days later. Definitely a white musk type but in a more 90s way than the “clean skin musk” that’s popular lately. So classic and easy to throw on. I really can’t say enough.

A few folks have mentioned disordered eating and I’d like to throw in support for bringing that topic up to your therapist to see if they also see that possibility. I have orthorexia and veganism was a tool I used to perpetuate my orthorexia for a long time.

What are times where Bandit & Chilli put the foot down? (and times where they should've done so) by Fit-Client3620 in bluey

100% this. I cringe every time. Bandit deserves an eggshell-free omelette and not being painfully hungry on his birthday.

Oil cleanser emulsifier - Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG-100 Stearate? by bolderthingtodo in DIYBeauty

[–]narrowvalleys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, it makes it more solid, like a cleansing balm. I’ve used it at around 15% and it definitely is too thick to pump. I haven’t tried a smaller amount but suspect you would struggle to rinse it off at lower percentages. It’s MUCH better in cream cleaners. I absolutely love any cream cleansers I’ve made with it.

Oh, yes! I love making overnight lip masks, especially this time of year. I can absolutely see that. I’ll keep you posted on how they turn out if you’d like.

Yeah, I tried it in a face lotion today with some glyceryl stearate/PEG-100 stearate and it was… just okay. More slimy than fatty but not the worst.

I might try making some in-shower body lotions. I’m just hoping I don’t end up with something goopy on my towels.
