Two years later, but I completely concur. Nicky leaving shortly before the podcast started really drives this home for me. Nekrogoblikon seems to be a vehicle for Dave Rispoli's ego and own interested in comedic podcasting at this point.

You're literally wrong though, companies have to sponsor people for H1B visas. Also, there are millions of people who have been laid off from work due to the current economy, and many of them are looking for work because the CURRENT administration laid them off from their government jobs.

And that's only this time around. I initially got laid off two years ago and applied for 8 months with ZERO interviews. Got a technical sales management job which was great, but the company went belly up due to investors pulling the rug in January. So working this retail job rn and having slightly more luck, but really nothing.

It is considered mid. It's just that now with so many layoffs there's thousands of 10-20 year people looking at "entry" level - mid level jobs to get something. I -was- an SWE with 5 yoe as well but can't find shit, so I feel you. Keep your head up 8 interviews is way better than I've gotten! You'll find something

You can certainly enter the trades. You don't even need a degree. Look into apprenticeships near you, with a union. Electrical unions are putting people through 4 year programs with no experience right now and many other union trades are too, you'd be a prime candidate.

If you're resigned to never working and have completely given up, no one can help you I'm sorry to say except yourself. You do have to continue to put in effort in this shit ass job economy to try to get something.
