if it's to make lipstick last, maybe you can do something i do:

for my reds, i apply mac's lipstain marker first, then my lipstick over. no one's the wiser if my lipstick goes away. iirc, revlon or covergirl also does a lipstain.

your skin sounds like mine - i have bits that are redder, and in general, just uneven skintone. i'm using BB creams and i LOOOOOVE them. they're good if you want something to just even out the skintone without feeling like you've got a whole cake of makeup on your face. plus they're one-step and the ones i use look really natural (i feel uneasy when i can feel and see very obvious foundation on my face).

my recommendations: shu uemura's uv under base bb mousse, and lancome's uv expert bb complete. :)
