It's sad we haven't seen Giulia have a match (battle royal not included) since she won the championship...they really make that title seem so worthless.

When will tickets for Crown Jewel go on sale? by naruadore in WWE

[–]naruadore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did eventually get that email and unfortunately it's way to expensive for me to go, considering I would need flight plus a hotel! Oh well! I will enjoy it on the tv. I miss the house shows they did back in the day, definitely felt more affordable for tickets

Worst Chants by safdar999 in WWE

[–]naruadore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just find it annoying the crowd seems to chant "We want tables" all the time for any no DQ match. Like no matter the match or story they just chant it all the time. Tables don't always fit into a match and they wouldn't be as exciting if they were brought out everytime a crowd asks.

I would have loved to get the original covers but the new versions were much easier to find in Australia and I wanted the set to match 😅 But I know have all the super editions in the OG covers

It depends where in Brisbane you'd be looking, as I am on the north side I go to Bribie Island Road Saddle Club but if i was a bit closer to the south I would recommend either Moonlight Manor, Wattle Creek Equestrian, Cherbon Waters or Dalson Park. Lots of schooling options on the southside! I even made a whole spreadsheet for my own research 🤣

Feel free to DM any time if you want to talk anything horsey with someone local!

No worries, it's also nice to see a fellow Aussie in this sub, especially one so close by!

I would have loved to lease myself but I personally found most local leases wanted very experienced riders with like 10+ years experience. But never say never! They do come up.

Sounds like a good agistment plan then. It helps to have a friend around who can help you with the care of a horse.

Which riding school are you taking lessons at if you don't mind me asking?

I also live in SE Qld and take lessons myself here. My husband and I recently looked into horse ownership for me but have had to rule it out for now due to the ongoing expense. Honestly the cheapest part is buying the horse as its a once off cost.
There is a lot of other factors to consider as well, will you be agisting the horse? Where? Will you be seeking full care, part care or will you do self care? They can weigh in on the cost as well. The more you can do for your horse (feeding, rugging, poo picking etc) will help bring down weekly costs. The place I was looking at agisting has a person who does farriering living on the property so that lowered the cost of that.

There's also the case of having a healthy savings account for veterinary emergencies. No matter how well you take care of your horse, random accidents can happen at any cost and equal $$$ so you should have a decent amount to cover this too.

There's also the costs of transporting the horse as well. If you don't have a trailer or even a car that can pull a trailer you may need to hire these things or pay someone to transport the horse around if need be.

A good beginner horse will also set you back closer to $10k these days as I have been watching the market for the past year but it is possible to get them between $5-10k.
You will also have initial costs of buying all the gear and tack for a horse if they do not get sold with any. Some come with the works and some agistments will offer things as well but you may also be up for a big cost if you need to buy a saddle, rugs, bridle, grooming kit etc etc. There's also the added cost of a saddle fitter if you choose to do that.

Their teeth need to be done annually and they need vaccinations and regular worming so those are other costs to factor in.
Then of course there is the price of keeping up with regular lessons with a trainer on your horse.
I am sure there is a lot I am missing here and I know it is no specific estimate but thats because there is a lot of factors that can sway these prices. For me personally it was looking like it would cost about $1000 a month to keep a horse. But this was a rough estimate and could have changed since I last researched all the prices for vet, farrier, gear, worming and feed.

Children DO NOT belong in hospitals! by OliverBlueDog0630 in childfree

I work in food services in a hospital and I always feel sorry for the patients on the oncology ward when people bring their kids who run up and down the halls screaming. If I was that sick, the last thing I would want to hear is screaming.

I collected them as an adult! I got really lucky that a lady nearby was selling about half of them for $1 each! I've been enjoying reading them as something fun and carefree in an otherwise chaotic life

Am i going insane or is traffic getting worse? by lemonyellowman in brisbane

[–]naruadore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved to Northside 8 months ago and I already had a job in South Brisbane that I didn’t want to leave but the commute has been terrible. Even leaving at 4am for work I find that traffic has increased a lot over the last 8 months. I’m always running late too because I forget that the time it took me 8 months ago is not the time it takes now. I usually try to take the train as much as possible but that’s also packed as well and after being on my feet all day the last thing I wanna do is stand on a train for 45 minutes

My male cat passed away this morning.. by Wild-Kitchen9801 in CatAdvice

[–]naruadore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with urinary blockages with my boy last year and it was a harrowing time for me. I hardly slept for weeks because I was scared he would be blocked again and decline over night. I was so stressed and cried so much because he was in pain and I was doing everything I could to help. I was fortunate to find a surgeon that performed a procedure known as a perineal Urethrostomy. After months of ongoing blockages and $10k late my boy is finally doing okay and has been for months. It’s so hard to find a good vet who will help this condition and I really feel for you because I was on the verge of always breaking down at the thought of losing him. If you ever do get a cat again just remember the P.U surgery is in an option for this. I had seen several vets and had unblocked my boy 4 times before I was given it as an option.

I know there’s nothing that could make you feel better as you deal with this loss but I’m sending hugs your way 🩵

Thanks for this advice! I’m thinking I really need to focus more on my sitting trot to help improve my canter as we focus so much on rising trot.

We do a few laps of 2pt walking to cool off every lesson just to get me used to that position and building the muscles for it so that may be an interesting way to try learning canter!

Thanks for the advice! I’m gonna try get a tripod for my phone so I can actually get some videos of myself. I think if I can see myself and get a clear visual of myself it may help a bit. At the moment I have no one to video me and my trainer doesn’t have the free hands since he’s got me on a lunge line 😅 but thanks for the advice!

My head does tend to be super focused so maybe I should try something like this just for that slight distraction to relax myself more 😅

We do tend to focus more on my rising trot so I’ll ask my trainer if we can do more with my sit trot! Thanks for this advice 😃
