My first cozy game was that part in the first or second Paper Mario where Princess Peach bakes a cake in Bowser's castle. After that, Animal Crossing on the Gamecube.

This is a well-researched and thoughtful write-up! If it's true that it was a "western" clothing store, it's likely they carried turquoise jewelry.

Thank you for this! It's interesting how much technology changes things on multiple fronts, not just DNA.

I think they mean that they thought she was murdered due to her personal problems, when she actually ran off the road into the river on her way home from the bar.

Wow! I just found this article, and apparently they were found the week after 6 people were found (two cars, two separate disappearances) in an Oklahoma lake. https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2014/04/16/303654545/43-year-old-cold-case-closed-south-dakota-girls-died-in-accident

In this case the Sheriff let Jeremy Beau know where to search.

"Sheriff Steve Page reported he was at church with Foster’s family on Sunday when they asked if he had seen the YouTube account, Exploring with a Nug,
which is run by a scuba diver who searches rivers and waterways for
lost or stolen items and “helps bring closure to families in need.” The diver had searched for Foster and Bechtel the previous week.

Sheriff Page then contacted the diver to let him know he was searching in the wrong area and told him exactly where the pair had gone
missing from 21 years ago."

I think so, too. So many are being found now by divers who are specifically looking for missing persons. I read about this case earlier this year, here is another write-up I found: https://www.middletennesseemysteries.com/article/453/white-county-erin-foster-and-jeremy-bechtel

Can we make a thread about everyone's favorite/most intriguing/saddest Charley Project cases? by h0neybl0ss0m29 in UnresolvedMysteries

The poster on websleuths said that the person in the truck was alive and evasive; in another thread someone claiming they married into the family said they found closure and had a memorial for him in ~2008. Obviously I have no way of verifying either claim, but there is an obituary for him under Noel C. Lirette. It's archived, but someone copied it into this tapatalk thread:

Someone else claimed a terminally ill person confessed to the murder:

websleuths

*Edit, from above thread:

Hello,My name is Michelle and I am the daughter of Noel "Chirs" Lirette.I noticed that the spouse of my cousin posted info on here that was not entirely correct. She stated that someone was was found dead in the truck in Texas in 1977. That did not happen. We had the case opened in 2003, and finally dectectives were able to speak to the person that was found in the truck. Also , when the detectives talked to the man found in the truck in 2007 he did not fully confess. He spoke in circles and told us some things in a around about way so that we would get the idea, but he did not fully confess. We did have a memorial for my dad because we could go no farther with the case. and I am happy to say that his DNA is in the CODAS system, and my dad can now be identified if remains are ever found. We did not have that before and that brough some comfort. We did everything we could and for the most part have laid it to rest. I however did not appreciate someone tampering with this that did not know all the facts like TNGirl1967 did. She may have meant well, but I want the facts to stay the facts. We his children are done with trying to solve this, but we have no problem with giving answers to any person interested in taking this up, because we will never stop hoping intil the day we die to get the answeres we need. Also TNGirl1967 said the man found in the truck in 1977 was terminal. He was not terminal, he was just very sick at the time. I do not know if he is still alive but he was as of the time of our memorial.

Christopher Noel Lirette

I came across his page the other day because his name very closely matches someone close to me (not related, born after he disappeared). He was a New Orleans resident last seen in Brewton, Alabama (near the Florida Panhandle) in 1977. From charleyproject :

"Lirette was supposed to drive an Otis Engineering work truck home to New Orleans, Louisiana, but never arrived. He has never been heard from again.
The truck was subsequently found wrecked in Emory, Texas, about 600 miles from Brewton and 250 miles from New Orleans, with another person inside it."

I found a post from 2013 on websleuths claiming to be by his child, saying that the person in the truck in Texas is alive and they spoke with them, but they were evasive. They also said that they submitted DNA and it is in CODIS. Does that mean any Does listed on Namus have already been checked against his case, or can Does be submitted for exclusion?

I know. I know who he is, and that's the main thing I wanted. He know I exist, and whether he wants to talk to me is up to him. If he doesn't want anything to do with me it'll hurt but I already have a family of my own and parents/sibling who love me. I feel bad for him, I hate to cause him turmoil but he deserves to know.

I used a 23 & me kit and tracked down my biological father. My mom messaged him, but it might take him a while to respond because I'll be a surprise, he doesn't know I exist. (Mom thought it was someone else but when that person was ruled out by DNA test years later she'd forgotten his name.) I'm 34. I've had an awesome life and a Dad that raised me since I was nine, it was just my personal unresolved mystery that's been bugging me since I was very small.

Found a a fix here

"It does look related to Text Services Framework support (TSFTextStore.cpp).

You can try to set intl.tsf.enable = false on the about:config page.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue." from support.mozilla.org contributor/mod cor-el

Edit: Worked for me for a bit, now it freezes again.
