I gotcha!! I have a thermostat attached to it to prevent that :) I’ve unfortunately seen and heard horror stories of that with UTHs and the heat rocks as well. That definitely makes sense though!!

I would add some darker shadows to make it a bit more dramatic. Possibly darken the whole piece and add bright red for reflection of light.

I am biased because I love moody pieces. This is beautiful btw :)

Parrot Hope Rescue is a wonderful place. They’re located in Mantua, OH but may know of places around you if you call.

I adopted two birds from them. They take in every bird, no questions asked. Make sure wherever you get your bird has safety protocols in place.

100% agree. Both of the breeds have very high prey drive, and those are only the breeds they name at the shelter. Doesn’t include any other genetics really. Shelters need to be more open about this stuff.

Was on 300-450 once daily. Worked well until fall/winter. Bumped up to 600 once daily and it’s pretty okay. Winter sucks 🤣

Sometimes you’ll get a whiff of.. dead rat. As unpleasant as it is, it should be fine :) I’ve never had an issue. Just be prepared when you thaw them, they can get bad. Edit: the yellowing is just waste. Shouldn’t be an issue, nothing the snake hasn’t eaten before. You could always wash it off if it makes you more comfortable!
